Community joins hands to fight drug abuse

Drugs are one of the serious social problems, affecting not only the health of each individual, but also the cause of many other social evils and violations of the law. Therefore, the task of fighting and repelling drug abuse always requires the active participation and cooperation of the entire community.

The self-management team of security and order in Trung village (Dong Rui commune, Tien Yen district) propagates to people to implement residential area conventions on preventing and combating social evils.

For drug crimes and evils, there must be understanding to fight effectively, with the main motto of prevention, fighting from afar, early. Specifically, people need to have a clear understanding of both legal knowledge, regulations related to fighting and preventing drugs, especially the direct harms and unpredictable consequences that drugs cause to the community... Therefore, in recent years, propaganda and mobilization work has always been focused on by the Quang Ninh Provincial Police force, closely coordinated with sectors, organizations, and localities to regularly deploy. As to suit each residential area, localities in the province have proactively organized oral propaganda activities through grassroots cadres, prestigious people, police, border guards... in remote villages, remote areas, border areas, and islands. At the same time, build and replicate models of people self-managing security and order in residential areas, self-managing in agencies and units, self-managing border markers... to increase awareness of proactive drug prevention, associated with the movement of All people protecting national security.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Provincial Police and localities have continuously deployed propaganda, mobilization, coordination and education activities, and disseminated laws related to drug prevention and control. For example, the Department of Investigation Police on Drug Crimes has coordinated with the Dong Trieu City Political Center to organize propaganda and dissemination sessions on drug crime prevention and control for officials, members of the Farmers' Association and teachers and students of Tran Quoc Tuan High School. Or in Duong Huy Commune (Cam Pha City), the Police and the Commune People's Committee have coordinated to launch the model "Skillful propaganda and mobilization of the Le family to prevent drug crimes", promoting the role of prestigious people in the community. The People's Committee of Lien Hoa Commune (Quang Yen Town) has also just organized a launching ceremony for the model "Propaganda and legal education team", which is the core to guide people on measures to recognize, prevent and protect themselves and their families from all kinds of crimes and social evils...

With the target group of teenagers, propaganda work has the participation of the youth union and schools, helping to effectively integrate legal knowledge and life skills into the curriculum and healthy and useful activities. Propaganda and dissemination of the law are also focused on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, YouTube..., youth fanpages with a large number of followers, such as "Quang Ninh Youth", "Quang Ninh Police Youth", "Quang Ninh Drug Prevention"... and many other official information pages. These are channels to spread information warning about crimes, disseminate legal knowledge with a system of images, videos , vivid and elaborate visual aids.

Although it is a regular and continuous task, activities aimed at raising social awareness of drug abuse are focused on and promoted more in June every year - the Month of Action against Drug Abuse, associated with the National Day against Drug Abuse on June 26. On this occasion, localities simultaneously organized rallies and parades to propagate and step up measures to attack and suppress crimes during the peak period. The synchronous, drastic and effective measures of the police force received the support and active participation of the people of the whole province. This is the most important factor in maintaining security and order, improving the effectiveness of the fight against and prevention of crimes.
