Automate the entire chain - from barn to egg collection
In Ninh Xa ward, Bac Ninh province, the farm of Delco High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Delco Farm) is considered one of the typical high-tech egg-laying chicken farming models in the North. With a scale of more than 136,000 chickens, the farm operates completely automatically from the system of barns, feeders, drinking water to environmental control and egg collection.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong, Technical Manager of Delco Farm, the chicken coop is designed according to European standards, using special insulation materials to keep the temperature inside the coop 5-8°C lower than outside. “Thanks to that, the chickens are less susceptible to heat shock, stay healthy and maintain stable egg-laying productivity all year round,” Mr. Cuong shared.

Environmental sensors are installed throughout the farm, continuously recording temperature, humidity, CO₂ concentration and wind speed. All data is transmitted to the control center, the system automatically activates fans, cooling or heating depending on weather conditions. This technology helps save 10-12 million VND in electricity costs per month, while reducing feed consumption thanks to a stable environment, less stress for chickens, and more regular eating.
Not only stopping at the breeding stage, Delco Farm also developed its own farm management software, allowing remote monitoring via phone: tracking the productivity of each batch, the amount of feed consumed, the rate of broken eggs and early warning if abnormalities appear. "We call this model "smart farm" - a smart farm, where engineers can control the entire process without having to be directly present in the barn", Mr. Cuong shared more.

Clean eggs, long-term preservation thanks to closed control
On average, Delco Farm collects about 126,000 eggs per day, achieving a 93-95% laying rate. All eggs are transferred to the processing area within 30 minutes of collection, helping to ensure freshness and limit cross-contamination. Here, eggs are automatically classified by size and cleanliness using a closed conveyor system.
The special thing about Delco Farm's process is that the eggs are not washed with water or disinfectants. "The natural membrane surrounding the eggshell is a great protective layer, preventing bacteria from penetrating the egg. If washed, this membrane will disappear, shortening the preservation time to only a few days," Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong explained. Therefore, Delco Farm eggs can be preserved for up to 25-30 days at room temperature, still retaining their freshness and characteristic flavor.

The chickens' drinking water is treated through an activated carbon and UV filter system, ensuring that there is no Coliform or E.coli. Delco Farm's feed is carefully selected, using bran from international standard suppliers, containing no growth hormones or antibiotics. Each batch of eggs is periodically tested for heavy metals, microorganisms and antibiotic residues, before being released to the market.
In addition, chicken manure and exhaust gas are treated with microorganisms in a completely dry system, helping to eliminate odors and reduce emissions. On average, the farm processes about 15 m³ of manure per day, and after drying, 6 tons of bagged microorganisms are obtained - both environmentally friendly and providing a stable additional source of income.
Towards standards for exporting clean Vietnamese eggs
Not only producing commercial eggs, Delco is researching deep processing into egg powder and dried eggs for export. Freeze-drying and UV sterilization technology helps the product retain its nutrients, making it easy to transport and preserve for a long time. This is a new direction to increase the added value of the Vietnamese egg farming industry.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Cuong, to meet export standards, Delco Farm aims to standardize the entire process according to GlobalG.AP and HACCP standards, from breeding, food to preservation and packaging. “We do not just sell eggs, but want to build a Vietnamese egg brand that can compete in the international market,” Mr. Cuong affirmed.
From the effectiveness of the model in Ninh Xa, many domestic delegations and enterprises have come to visit and learn from its experience. Delco Farm's model is considered a typical direction of Bac Ninh agriculture in the digital transformation period, contributing to bringing poultry farming to a new stage - the stage of Science and Technology, automation and clean products meeting export standards.
