An Giang province has just announced the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to recognize the palm sugar making profession of the Khmer people in Tri Ton district and Tinh Bien town as a national intangible cultural heritage.
This is an important premise for the government and people to raise awareness in preserving and promoting the value of this traditional profession. Palm trees are abundant in the mountainous region of An Giang , and are a source of raw materials for processing traditional palm sugar, helping Khmer people have a stable income.
9 winning works of the "Beautiful Photos of Kien Giang" contest in 2024
The 2024 art photography contest with the theme "Beautiful Photos of Kien Giang" launched by the Literature and Arts Association in collaboration with Kien Giang Radio and Television Station attracted 84 authors to submit more than 800 entries. The Organizing Committee selected 9 entries to award 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes and 4 Consolation Prizes. Awarding project for propaganda on conservation and development of red-crowned cranes
CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company has just donated a propaganda project on the conservation and development of red-crowned cranes at Tram Chim National Park to Tram Chim High School. Ben Tre develops more than 3,600 hectares of high-tech shrimp farming
Of the more than 36,000 hectares of brackish water shrimp farming in Ben Tre province, there are more than 3,600 hectares of high-tech shrimp farming, with an output of about 90,250 tons/year, accounting for more than 58% of the province's total shrimp farming output. The average yield of high-tech shrimp farming is 60-70 tons/ha of water surface, with an average profit of 700-800 million/ha/crop. According to the plan, by 2025, Ben Tre province will develop about 4,000 hectares of high-tech shrimp farming.

Resettlement support for people affected by sea erosion
To date, 51/166 households who lost their land due to sea erosion in the coastal areas of Dong Thanh and Ho Thung hamlets, Dong Hai commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province have been supported to build houses in the Ho Thung hamlet resettlement area. Each household has received a non-refundable support of 30 million VND, a house foundation 4.5m wide and 25m long; and a credit loan of 50 million VND to invest in sanitation and clean water facilities. It is expected that before the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025, people will move to their new homes.
