(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of January 12, Hai Phong Association for Promotion of Education held a conference to summarize the work of promoting education, promoting talents, building a learning society in 2023, deploying tasks in 2024 and signing emulation covenants between Associations for Promotion of Education in districts.

Attending the conference were comrades: Duong Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Bui Van Kiem, Director of the Department of Education and Training; Dr. Nguyen Kim Pha, Principal of To Hieu Political School. In 2023, the Association for Promotion of Learning at all levels always strived and took the initiative to advise local Party committees and authorities to promptly implement Decisions, Plans, as well as instructions from the Central and City Governments on building a learning society, thereby creating positive changes in the movement, typically the Association for Promotion of Learning in Hong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Kien An districts and Cat Hai district...

The Association has focused on training and propaganda for the staff. education promotion officers at all levels, typically topics such as:Education and Education Promotion in the digital age; Methods of using the Learning Citizens Model Evaluation Toolkit; Processes and procedures for implementing, evaluating and recognizing learning models... thereby contributing to raising awareness among Party committees, authorities and people about education promotion, talent promotion, and building a learning society in the city.

Hai Phong Association for Promotion of Education was honored to receive the Flag for excellent unit from the Central Committee of Vietnam Association for Promotion of Education.

Hai Phong Association for Promotion of Education awarded the Emulation Flag to the leading unit in the emulation movement of the district and county blocks.

The movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promoting lifelong learning" is spreading widely among the people. In addition, some traditional activities are still maintained such as: a series of activities during the Month of Learning Promotion, the Hoa Phuong Do Scholarship Program, the "Helping Children Go to School" Program at the city level and many activities aimed at taking care of the education of students in localities... In 2023, the Association gave Tet gifts to 458 students and awarded Hoa Phuong Do Scholarships to 300 students, with a total cost of nearly 600 million VND.

Responding to the movement "The whole country competes to build a learning society, promote lifelong learning in the period of 2021-2030", in 2024, the City's Association for Promotion of Learning will continue to promote and mobilize the development of Learning Promotion organizations and Learning Promotion members in the community, agencies, armed forces units and enterprises; strive to develop an average of 25 to 30 more Learning Promotion organizations in each district and increase the rate of Learning Promotion members in the whole city to 30%. Promote forms of mobilization, create sources of operating funds; manage and use funds for the right purposes and for the right subjects, promptly encourage students and citizens in difficult circumstances to excel in their studies; commend advanced models in the movement to promote learning, encourage talents, build a learning society...

On this occasion, the District and County Associations for the Promotion of Education agreed to sign an emulation covenant in 2024, according to which 85% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups strive to have a Decision to establish a Promotion of Education Branch; 60 % of state agencies, armed forces units, 100 % of schools, and 40 % of enterprises have a Decision to establish a Promotion of Education Board; focus on propagating and mobilizing local people to participate in the movement to promote education and talent, and build a learning society; 100% of schools register to build a "Learning Unit" model, of which 75% achieve the status of a Learning Unit; 100% of learning promotion organizations have a Fund for promoting education and talent, etc.

At the Conference, many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements received Emulation Flags, Certificates of Merit, and Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and the Hai Phong Association for Promoting Education.
