The chemical safety management system is built on the basis of the Law on Chemicals and guiding decrees such as Decree No. 113/2017/ND-CP detailing the safety, classification and use of chemicals, followed by Decree No. 82/2022/ND-CP, Circular No. 32/2017/TT-BCT providing specific guidance on forms and chemical safety data sheets. The Company has proactively developed measures to prevent and respond to chemical incidents according to regulations, demonstrating careful preparation of equipment and response forces.

In addition, safety assurance is reinforced by compliance with regulations on handling violations in the field of industrial chemicals/explosives, through periodic chemical safety training. Chemical incident response drills are also considered important, as a step to reinforce knowledge and skills for employees to know and handle if an incident occurs. The company conducts periodic chemical safety training every 2 years for related subjects.

Training includes practice in recognizing hazardous properties and handling typical chemical incidents at the facility. Workers are provided with adequate personal protective equipment, appropriate to the nature and toxicity of each chemical.

Regarding the management of chemical storage and information, strict regulations on safety records management are required, requiring suppliers to provide chemical safety data sheets in Vietnamese for all hazardous chemicals, and to establish a control sheet for the purchase and sale of toxic chemicals. The storage of hazardous chemicals is carried out by zoning, arranging and isolating incompatible chemicals by safe distances or separate areas.

Areas for storing discarded chemicals and spilled chemicals must strictly comply with waste collection, transportation and treatment procedures. Temporary hazardous waste storage areas are designed with tight, impermeable floors and spill-proof barriers at least 20 cm high, ensuring environmental safety.

Regarding fire prevention and fighting, the company has shown high compliance and achieved many positive results in ensuring fire safety. The legal framework on fire safety has been firmly established, including the promulgation of Regulations on fire prevention, fighting and rescue (PCCC and CNCH) and a fire fighting plan approved by the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department of Lam Dong Province Police since 2013, continuously updated every year. The company strictly complies with the provisions of law and superior agencies on fire prevention and fighting and effectively applies the "4 on-site" motto (command, force, means, logistics supplies).

Conduct chemical safety training every 2 years for relevant subjects

Firefighting and rescue equipment and tools are inspected and maintained periodically according to regulations and each production location is assigned to manage, use, maintain and preserve firefighting equipment well. The company also maintains the visual management tool 5S (sort, arrange, clean, care, ready) to scientifically and neatly arrange the system of cabinets, tables, computers, and archives, to limit damage when an incident occurs.

The positivity is also strongly demonstrated in training and propaganda work. The company promotes propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue to raise awareness and responsibility of all officers and employees. All employees are organized to learn how to use and know how to use fire prevention and fighting equipment.

In addition, the company pays special attention to the management of equipment with strict requirements on labor safety and hygiene, strictly complying with the provisions of the law. Accordingly, the company has signed a contract to hire a competent unit to conduct periodic and unscheduled inspections of machinery, equipment and materials with strict requirements on labor safety in accordance with the provisions of the law.

100% of machines, equipment and materials are fully inspected by the company such as: 22 types of lifting equipment, thermoelectric boilers, 8 types of pressure vessels, 3,000 pressure pipes. In addition, hand-held electric tools are also periodically inspected for insulation, ensuring technical safety for users.

With a high sense of initiative in complying with the law, systematic and methodical management, over the past 10 years, Lam Dong Aluminum Company Limited - TKV has not had any incidents related to chemicals or explosions, contributing to the completion of the company's annual production and business plan.
