A male tourist was attacked by a wild monkey at Tianling Mountain Park in Guizhou Province, China, after being teased. The incident, which happened on October 17, has prompted the park management to issue a stern warning about interacting with wild animals there.
According to local media and witnesses, the male tourist initiated the fight by touching the face of a long-tailed macaque with his hand. The animal reacted in self-defense in a split second, kicking the man straight in the face with both legs.

Official warnings and worrying statistics
Immediately after the incident, the management board of Thien Linh Mountain Park issued a notice asking visitors to keep a safe distance of at least 3 meters from wild animals. "If violations occur and accidents occur, visitors must take responsibility," the notice emphasized.
This is not an isolated incident. According to statistics from 2020, there have been more than 13,000 recorded cases of monkeys causing injuries to tourists at this scenic area. To ensure safety, the management board has placed many warning signs on the premises and increased security patrols. On-site security staff also regularly remind visitors to keep their distance when monkeys approach.
