According to information from the Dong Van District Relic Management Board, from May 30 to June 18, the management board will carry out renovations and restoration of the Lung Cu National Flagpole. Therefore, visitors will only stop at the waiting area and will not be allowed to go up to the flagpole.
Lung Cu flagpole is located at an altitude of 1,470m above sea level, a destination not to be missed when visitors come to Dong Van stone plateau, Ha Giang .
The flagpole is built according to the model of Hanoi flagpole, with a total height of 34.85m, the flag is 54m2 wide, symbolizing 54 ethnic groups.
The body of the column is designed in an octagonal shape, with 8 bronze drums and 8 green stone reliefs illustrating the stages of each historical period of the country as well as the people and customs of the ethnic groups in Ha Giang.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thuat - administrator of a Ha Giang tourism review group, although you cannot go all the way to the foot of the flagpole, there are many places for tourists to check-in at Lung Cu Flagpole.
The flagpole is located high on the top of Dragon Mountain, so it is easy to see from anywhere. Good photo spots are the roads around the flagpole or from Lo Lo Chai.
Coming to Ha Giang this season, tourists can also visit and explore many other destinations of the land at the head of the Fatherland such as Lao Xa ancient house, Lo Lo Chai, Ma Pi Leng pass, Nho Que river, King Meo's mansion...
