Souvenir shop caught fire at noon, Hoi An ancient town in chaos

(PLVN) - A souvenir shop located in the heart of Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam) suddenly caught fire fiercely at noon, causing panic among many locals and tourists. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human casualties.

On June 13, Mr. Vo Dang Phong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Minh An Ward (Hoi An City, Quang Nam ) confirmed that a fire had just broken out at a souvenir shop in the ward. Immediately after receiving the report from the people, local authorities quickly arrived to handle the situation.

According to Mr. Phong, the fire broke out at around 12:30 noon the same day (June 13) at a 2-story house specializing in souvenir business, located at 10 Tran Quy Cap Street (Minh An Ward).

The fire was determined to have started on the second floor of the house, which was used as a warehouse. This store is located next to Hoi An market, in an area crowded with tourists. The fire prevention and fighting team of the market management board promptly deployed on-site fire fighting measures before the Northern Quang Nam Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force arrived to provide additional support.
