September 21 is the day the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document allowing the use of the current land price list to calculate taxes while waiting for the issuance of a new land price list. On that basis, the tax authority will have a basis to resolve land tax records.

Thus, after 8 days of continuous file processing, working on Saturdays, Sundays and overtime, up to now 15,800 pending land tax files have been almost resolved.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, said that there are currently 3,950 land tax records remaining, of which 1,500 records have been pending since September 21. The rest are newly-arrived records that are within the deadline for processing.

"After resolving all the backlogs from September 21, the tax offices will continue to resolve newly-arrived cases within the prescribed time limit. Whether or not they work on holidays depends on the number of newly-arrived cases. The general view is that the tax offices must resolve cases promptly within the prescribed time limit," Mr. Dung emphasized.

Prioritize resources to process land tax records

Previously, right after the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued document 5635 allowing the use of the current land price list to calculate taxes while waiting for the issuance of the new land price list, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department urgently directed the heads of tax branches to prioritize and focus resources to resolve as soon as possible the land records received from August 1, working on Saturdays and Sundays...

At the same time, tax branches must report daily processing progress to the land management department, so that this department can summarize and report to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department. Units and individuals who perform well will be encouraged and rewarded promptly.

Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department requires the heads of tax branches in the area to be responsible for organizing the processing of land records, not allowing any trouble, harassment, or negativity to arise.
