When technology "tells stories" for Vietnamese agricultural products

The conference was truly explosive with two profound and passionate presentations from two speakers. Dr. Chu Duc Hoang - Chief of Office of the National Technology Innovation Fund (NATIF), Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Young Scientists and Technologists brought a macro perspective, placing Vietnamese agriculture in the context of the global innovation race. He pointed out the “valleys of death” that technology projects in Vietnam are facing and proposed a comprehensive 7-pillar strategy to restructure the industry.

Dr. Chu Duc Hoang emphasized: “ We cannot just 'sell resources' forever, but must 'sell branded products'. The core strategy is to use opportunities from technology and the market to overcome inherent weaknesses such as fragmentation and loose connections.

The journey of transforming Vietnamese agriculture with the connection of 5 parties (State, farmers, scientists, businesses and banks) is a challenging but extremely glorious journey, requiring new thinking, new ways of doing things and the cooperation of all to create a sustainable - transparent - prosperous future .

Delving into practical challenges and specific solutions, Dr. Tran Hong Hai - Director of the Institute of Human Ecology and Sustainable Development (Hesdi) analyzed the urgency of standardization (GlobalGAP, VietGAP), digitizing processes and building a transparent data platform.

According to Dr. Tran Hong Hai, trust is the new currency in the global food market. This trust cannot be built by words, but by verifiable data and consistent standards. When applying technology to make data transparent, we not only improve product quality, but also build the most valuable asset. That is the brand and reputation of Vietnamese agricultural products.
