Take off with the cooperative in the fields

In the fields of Hoa Xuan Tay Ward (Dong Hoa Town), people are sowing and planting to start the summer-autumn crop of 2025. Somewhere, drones are also starting to spray pesticides on the fields. This scene is the most vivid demonstration of the concept of modern rural agriculture.

Mr. Huynh Ngoc Bao, Director of Hoa Xuan Tay 1 Cooperative, said: Since 2023, the Cooperative has contacted a service provider to pilot the service on members' fields. People saw that doing so would save labor, ensure farmers' health and safety, and increase the effectiveness of pest control, so they tried it. Since then, 5-10 hectares of each crop have been sprayed with pesticides by drone.

Cooperatives have used drones to spray pesticides since 2020. At first, because it was a new technology, people were hesitant and cooperatives at that time encountered many difficulties when expanding. In fact, drones are highly effective in large fields with open spaces... Meanwhile, people's fields are still fragmented and not contiguous; the power lines in the air are unsafe, making it difficult to take off... Over time, the limitations have gradually been overcome, most importantly, cooperatives have stepped up propaganda and encouraged people to apply new technology to production. Up to now, many cooperatives have maintained this service.

Hoa Thang 2 Agricultural Service Cooperative (Phu Hoa district) has been providing drone services since 2022 with over 30 hectares. In the following years, although the area has decreased, the service activities have been maintained. In 2025, the Cooperative will deploy over 20 hectares. Mr. Nguyen Van Chin, Director of this Cooperative, shared: In the early years, the Cooperative encountered difficulties, but now it has stabilized and more and more people have demand. To do so, the Cooperative has persistently maintained, gradually overcome difficulties, and promoted propaganda so that people can see the undeniable benefits of drones, which is to protect their health when they do not have to directly come into contact with chemicals. Above all, this is an inevitable trend of modern agriculture, so if we do not approach it in time, we will fall behind. "There will no longer be the image of farmers working hard in the fields spraying pesticides, but instead sitting in a cool place and pressing the control button on the drone spraying pesticides in the fields...", Mr. Chin confided.

Drones are a technology for spraying and fertilizing fields using unmanned aircraft. Drones are said to make the dream of footprint-free fields come true, upgrading agricultural production from mechanization to automation.
