
Within the framework of the program, many practical activities were deployed, focusing on propaganda and dissemination of State regulations on seafood exploitation, contributing to raising legal awareness, supporting fishermen to confidently go offshore, stick to the sea, develop the economy associated with protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
On this occasion, the organizers presented 100 gifts to fishermen in Van Don special zone. Each gift is worth more than 4 million VND, including: 1 set of batteries, LED lights, 1 medicine bag with necessary medicines and a handbook on Things to know about catching seafood ...
The organizers also awarded 20 scholarships and school supplies to children of fishermen in especially difficult circumstances in the Van Don special economic zone.
The program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" will start in early 2023, expected to take place in coastal provinces and cities across the country, with a total implementation cost of more than 30 billion VND.
The program has many practical and meaningful activities to support, encourage and accompany fishermen such as: disseminating state regulations on seafood exploitation; organizing seminars and legal workshops on the topic of solutions to remove the IUU yellow card for the seafood industry; visiting, encouraging and giving gifts to fishermen; awarding scholarships to children of fishermen in difficult circumstances.
Van Don Special Economic Zone has the largest aquaculture area in Quang Ninh province, and is also a key fishing ground in the Northeast region. This place was chosen as the 24th destination in the journey of the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen".
