The results of a Reuters/Ipsos poll show that US President Joe Biden is leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in the US presidential election taking place next November.
About 41% of voters surveyed said they would vote for Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, if the vote were held on April 9. Meanwhile, the figure was 37% for Republican candidate Donald Trump. This 4% gap has increased compared to the poll results in March (1%).
The poll was conducted over five days among registered voters heading into November’s presidential election. Twenty-two percent of registered voters said they were undecided, leaning toward a third party or would not vote.
This year's race for the White House is a rematch of the US presidential election after nearly 70 years and is expected to be a very close race.
