Speaking at the seminar, former President of South Korea Lee Myung-Bak said that during his term in office, he made many efforts to enhance the relationship between the two countries; at the same time, he built a very good relationship with former President Truong Tan Sang. Former President of South Korea Lee Myung-Bak said that he came from a business background, and was a businessman who successfully promoted high-tech industry in South Korea. When he was President of South Korea (2008 - 2013), he made great efforts for cooperation and development between businesses of Vietnam and South Korea, although there were difficulties at that time, they overcame them together. According to former President of South Korea Lee Myung-Bak, through meetings with former President Truong Tan Sang; Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and localities in Long An during the survey trip at Nam Tan Tap Industrial Park (Can Giuoc District) on the morning of December 3 and at this discussion, it was a very warm, friendly and respectful attitude. "Combining the information I know with the attitude of the leaders responsible for administration in Long An that I met today, I feel the perfection of administrative conditions in Long An. Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee, said that Long An province has established friendly relations and signed bilateral cooperation agreements on socio -economic development with 3 localities of South Korea: Chung-cheong-nam province, Jeo-lla-buk province and Yang-San city of Gyeong-sang-nam province. Up to now, South Korea is the 2nd largest investor of Long An province in terms of total number of projects (208 projects) and 3rd in terms of total registered investment capital (nearly 1 billion USD)... Korean investors have contributed to Long An's position in the top 10 provinces and cities leading in attracting FDI capital from Vietnam and have made very positive contributions to the province's economic growth, improving the lives of local people.

Long An province is looking forward to Korean investors helping the province invest in areas such as: processing and manufacturing industry (electronic components manufacturing, precision mechanics, semiconductor industry, agricultural processing, clean energy, pharmaceutical industry and medical equipment, biotechnology). In addition, Long An wishes to cooperate with Korean investors to establish a high-tech labor training center.
