In preparation for the abolition of lump-sum tax from January 1, 2026, local tax authorities are seeking new approaches to support business households. In addition to direct training sessions, tax authorities also invite KOLs and KOCs, who are influential people on digital platforms, to participate in propaganda, helping information spread smoothly and easily. In addition, dialogues with business households with large revenues or groups of individuals doing business on e-commerce platforms are also held regularly, so that any problems can be resolved on the spot.
Mr. Le Ngoc Chien currently has nearly 400,000 followers on social media platforms. With that influence, he was invited by Hanoi Tax Department to participate in propaganda about abolishing lump-sum tax and switching to a declaration form for business households.
Mr. Le Ngoc Chien - Digital Influencer (KOL) said: "I will add more video posts in a form that can lead to specific solutions, so that not only my followers but also the businesses working with me can come up with a more optimal and transparent way of working."
Hanoi Tax also regularly organizes dialogue sessions to listen and answer questions from business households. The invited subjects are quite diverse: from actors, Tiktokers, Youtubers, e-commerce businesses... to households that are in need of converting to businesses.
Ms. Pham Thi Van - Business household in Vinh Hung ward, Hanoi city shared: "I do not know if the conversion from lump-sum tax to declaration and license for our current operations will have any impact. I also hope to have more knowledge about that part to prepare for what to do next."
Mr. Nguyen Tien Minh - Deputy Head of Taxation of Hanoi City commented: "We also focus on groups of business households with relatively large revenue scale, which can develop into larger declaring households, use invoices as well as develop into enterprises. Especially those doing business on e-commerce platforms".
Implementing the 60-day peak plan, the Tax Department recently sent an open letter to business households, associations and technology solution providers. The tax industry requested that units get involved and provide maximum support for business households to switch from lump-sum tax to free declaration, including accounting software.
Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan - Senior Director of Payment Solution Development, Techcombank said: "We have programs to support small traders in the process of converting from a household business to an enterprise model, with support packages related to tax declaration and support related to sales management software".
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tu - Deputy Director of Mobifone Service Company Region I commented: "We will support and provide free support for up to 6 months to businesses such as electronic invoices, digital signatures, and sales software".
Diversifying propaganda and support methods helps each business household no longer have to struggle alone when converting, but always have the support of tax authorities and the community.
