Da Nang proactively arranges public housing for civil servants after the merger of Quang Nam - Da Nang

At the press conference for the first quarter of 2025 organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City on April 11, Director of the Department of Construction Nguyen Ha Nam provided a lot of information related to the progress of implementing social housing projects, especially emphasizing the plan to prepare public housing for officials and civil servants in the context of the merger between the two localities of Quang Nam and Da Nang.

Mr. Nam said that ensuring working conditions for civil servants if the administrative center is located in Da Nang is an important task in the merger process. Therefore, the Department of Construction has reviewed the entire existing social housing fund and advised the city leaders on a plan to arrange reasonable and convenient public housing for civil servants after the merger.

"Da Nang is utilizing all resources to increase social housing, which is reported to be in high demand as officials and civil servants move to Da Nang," Mr. Nam emphasized.

Quang Da Bridge, connecting Da Nang City with Quang Nam Province, has just been put into use to create connectivity and increase development space between the two localities.

Mr. Nam said that currently, many social housing projects in Da Nang have been completed and put into use, including the apartment building for people with revolutionary contributions on Vu Mong Nguyen Street (209 apartments), and phase 2 of this project with 191 apartments is being accelerated.

At the same time, the city is also cooperating with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to implement the Social Housing and Trade Union Institution Project with a scale of 703 apartments in Lien Chieu District. Along with that, the city expanded the Hoa Cam Industrial Park Workers' Housing with an additional 184 apartments in phase 1 and proposed to implement phase 2 with about 500 apartments.

The West and West expansion dormitory project in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, with 728 apartments, is being urgently inspected and the fire prevention and fighting system is being completed to put into use as social and public housing for workers, laborers and civil servants.

Along with public investment projects, the city is also exploiting socialized resources to develop social housing. 2,736 apartments at the Bau Tram Lakeside Green Urban Area project have been completed and put into use.

Some other projects such as low-income apartments in Dai Dia Bao and An Trung 2 resettlement areas (total 870 apartments) are facing some problems and are behind schedule.

It is expected that in the coming time, a series of new projects will be started, including: Project at land plot B4-1, B4-2 (Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area) with 1,564 apartments, starting in October 2022; Project at apartment building No. 3 and No. 5 in Nam Cau Cam Le residential area with a total of 1,955 apartments, starting in December 2025. The city strives to start 5 social housing projects with a scale of more than 3,600 apartments in the first quarter of 2026.
