Towards a modern, flexible classroom in the digital age

NDO - On May 20, at Giang Vo Secondary School (Hanoi), the Department of Education and Training of Ba Dinh District (Hanoi) organized a workshop "Unlocking the digital era and creating digital schools: Solutions from Google".

At the workshop, delegates, managers and teachers were introduced to and experienced Google's digital technology solutions applied in management and teaching organization, thereby orienting the construction of a modern, flexible and integrated educational environment.

Deputy Head of the Ba Dinh District Education Department, Pham Thi Ngoc Lan, emphasized: The workshop demonstrates Ba Dinh District's determination to make digital transformation in education a driving force for sustainable development for schools. Google for Education's technology platform will build a modern, safe, personalized learning environment and strengthen the connection between schools, teachers and students.

In the process of implementing the Google Digital School model, as of April 2025, the entire district had 304 cadres, teachers, and staff of primary and secondary schools participating and achieving Google Digital Teacher Certificates. Giang Vo Secondary School has become the first school in Vietnam to have 100% of administrators, teachers, and staff successfully completing the exam and achieving Google Certified Educator Level 1 certification.

This achievement not only affirms the professional capacity of the teaching staff, but also creates a solid foundation for the Google digital school model to develop strongly in the 2025-2026 school year.

General Director of AI Education, the fully authorized unit of Google for Education in Vietnam, Do Tran Binh Minh, commented: The district is one of the pioneering localities in applying Google's educational solutions for many years and is a place that demonstrates high commitment, perseverance and remarkable efforts in the digital transformation process.

At the workshop, many teachers shared their real-life experiences, showing their proactive approach to new things, their spirit of learning and their willingness to accompany the journey of digital transformation in education. Teacher Du Thanh Huyen, teacher at Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) shared: The most impressive thing is the space to experience the Google digital classroom. Through that, teachers better understand the superiority of this platform in setting up and managing online classrooms, supporting learners to access knowledge anytime, anywhere.

In particular, the flexibility, intuitiveness and multi-dimensional connectivity of digital classrooms not only improve teaching and learning efficiency, but also open up new approaches to personalizing education, meeting the diverse learning needs of modern students.

Vice Principal of Giang Vo Secondary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi), Vu Dinh Phuong said: This is a seminar with a topic that is quite new to many schools. Through the program, teachers not only listened to the sharing about Google digital school but also directly experienced Google's digital technology applications in education, from setting up online classrooms, managing students to integrating teaching support tools.

It is expected that Giang Vo Secondary School will orient to deploy Google Classrooms in the 2025-2026 school year, contributing to gradually building a more modern, flexible and effective learning environment for teachers and students.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Principal of Thanh Cong Secondary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi), said: The Google digital school model aims to build a flexible educational environment, where technology provides maximum support for innovation in teaching and learning methods, enhancing the initiative and creativity of both teachers and students.

This model helps schools visualize more clearly how to deploy digital schools and digital classrooms with dynamic lessons, expanding learning spaces, creating conditions for students to connect, exchange and learn in an international environment.

Students of Giang Vo Secondary School are confident in digital classrooms connecting with students of Vietnam-Finland International School (Ho Chi Minh City).

The school has organized training and all staff, teachers and employees have passed the Google Level 1 certification exam. It is expected that from the 2025-2026 school year, the school will deploy an elite classroom model, teachers and students will use the Google Workspace for Education platform in teaching, testing, evaluating and managing the classroom, helping students master technology, develop digital skills and global thinking.

Within the framework of the workshop, teachers experienced the demonstration of a Google digital classroom conducted by teachers of Giang Vo Secondary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi), with the participation of students from the school and students of the Vietnam-Finland International School (Ho Chi Minh City).

The workshop "Unlocking the digital era and creating digital schools: Solutions from Google" was held to raise awareness of the importance of digital transformation in education, and at the same time introduce advanced technology solutions from Google for Education such as Chromebook educational computers, artificial intelligence application systems in teaching and learning, and training programs from Gemini AI Academy, thereby orienting the development roadmap of digital school models at educational institutions in the area.
