Mr. Doan Van Tuan, Vice President of DCCA informed that the Festival will have the theme "Ancient Tea Fragrance - Ancient Cake Flavor", aiming to create a unique experiential space, introducing traditional teas and cakes, contributing to honoring the value of Vietnamese tea and traditional cakes, demonstrating the unique culinary quintessence of the culinary culture of the Central region and Vietnam.
One festival, two problems
According to Mr. Doan Van Tuan, this Festival is essentially a culinary event regularly organized by the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCD). In the Central region, the event was once organized as a large festival in Hoi An (formerly Quang Nam ), creating a strong impression on domestic and international experts, raising many issues of orientation regarding the requirements for developing national culinary culture.

Many culinary festivals with themes and high specialization were then organized, not only domestically but also spread to many countries and regions around the world . All of them opened up contexts for integrating Vietnamese culinary culture into the world environment in a strong and detailed way.
To contribute to promoting this movement, VCCD has required the organization of many activities in member associations, aiming at investment criteria to promote and strongly develop culinary culture.
Especially regarding Vietnamese Tea culture, learning from previous events, it is necessary to define the criteria and official nature of organizing Tea culture in a scientific and systematic manner, evoking quintessential values and attracting investment and reference from professional organizations, researchers, etc.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of VCCA, it is necessary to establish a Vietnamese Tea Culture Association, to both contribute to raising the value of Vietnamese culinary culture in the international arena, and join hands to foster and clearly build criteria and standards of Vietnamese Tea culture from the past to the present, clearly position the role and influence of Tea culture in traditional Vietnamese cultural lifestyle, suggest new directions for future development, and deeply integrate internationally.
The Tea Culture Festival event organized by Da Nang, therefore, has two notable content issues.
Firstly, the event simultaneously introduces the activities of the Vietnamese Tea Culture Association to the general public and professionals in the Central region, emphasizing social community activities, spreading the value of traditional Tea culture.
The public and interested people can participate in this festival with the main activities of experiencing the traditional Tea - Cake cultural space, enjoying unique teas such as ancient Snow Lotus Tea, watching traditional art performances as well as promotional programs, presentations on tea making - cake making conducted by artisans and professional chefs, and interacting with locals and tourists.

Second, the event raises some cultural content of Tea - Cake, which are cultural - tourism products rich in identity, need to be spread, contributing to promoting the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine.
Interested public can participate in two talks on Tea Culture and Ancient Cake Flavors, introducing traditional tea-making rituals and tea-drinking culture in past and present life and tourism; demonstrations of making traditional cakes (banh it, banh in, banh to, etc.) and organizing tea-cake tasting, creating a space for exchange - connection - experience for the public, artisans, businesses and the community that loves Vietnamese Tea culture.
Mr. Doan Van Tuan expects that there will be more than 5 famous national tea brands, along with many famous bakeries participating in the activities and creating this space, introducing about 10 tea brands, 20 types of European cakes and 35 types of traditional Vietnamese cakes to the public.
Orientation to spread values!
Talking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky affirmed that the cultural values of Vietnamese Tea from the past to the present have shown that Vietnamese Tea is not only a drink but also a symbol of the unique and distinctive culinary culture of our ancestors.
Behind the cup of tea, the Vietnamese soul has been deeply expressed and honored, associated with the lifestyle, thinking and ritual ethics imbued with Eastern philosophy of the Vietnamese people: respecting elders, giving way to juniors, respecting nature, living slowly, thinking deeply.
“Whether it is a strong cup of tea from the North, a light taste from the Central region or a light tea from the South, each land retains a part of the soul of Vietnamese Tea, honoring Vietnamese people and culture.
From West Lake lotus tea, ancient Shan Tuyet tea from Ha Giang, Ta Xua Son La, to O Long, Thai Nguyen, Bao Loc tea brands, we can see that Vietnam possesses a rich tea heritage in terms of flavor and tea-drinking style," Mr. Ky emphasized.
The 2025 Vietnamese Tea Festival event is considered the highlight of the activities of the Vietnamese Tea Culture Association, "a place to connect cultural souls, preserve the quintessence and inspire beautiful living from a small cup of tea".

This is also the basis for this Association to prepare to organize the next events and discussions such as the seminar Vietnamese Tea in World Tea Culture.
What is worth mentioning, according to Mr. Doan Van Tuan, is that through the content organized and shared in Da Nang, the Vietnamese Tea Festival expressed deeper perspectives on local culture, especially focusing on emphasizing the details of "culinary" culture in Vietnamese dishes and flavors.
That is the connection and synchronization between tea drinking and cake eating, a very delicate cultural “couple” in life. Vietnamese people not only make tea and enjoy tea, with very unique criteria and standards, but also associate it with the act of making and eating cakes.
“Enjoying tea and cakes is a very unique and scientific cultural definition in Vietnamese culinary culture, not easy for everyone to understand and grasp,” Mr. Doan Van Tuan affirmed.
This is the interesting thing, which according to Mr. Tuan, will certainly bring a different meaning to the public, creating a unique space for enjoying the Vietnamese Tea Culture Festival 2025 organized by Da Nang.
