Da Nang: Creating a launching pad from Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW

In order to concretize the spirit of the above Resolution, for the first time, Da Nang City organized an in-depth workshop on developing AI applications and attracting investment from AI enterprises to the city. The event took place on May 9.

Identify the top political tasks

According to Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, immediately after the Politburo issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (NQ 57), the city identified that, along with the effective implementation of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for city development, including the construction of a Free Trade Zone and an International Financial Center, this is the top priority political task in 2025 and the following years.

The City has promptly issued decisions to establish a Steering Committee to implement Resolution 57 as well as the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Steering Committee. At the same time, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has directed the development of an action program to implement Resolution 57 with very specific and practical contents, and established a group of experts to advise the Steering Committee, including experts, scientists and businesses operating in the fields of science, technology and digital transformation as well as innovative startups.

In particular, the Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that propaganda work must be conducted regularly, continuously and in depth, so that all cadres, people and businesses in the area are informed and understand the importance of Resolution 57; highly promote social consensus, thereby aiming to bring the resolution into real life soon.

Specifically, Da Nang sets a goal that by 2030, Da Nang's science and technology potential and level will reach an advanced level among the top 5 localities nationwide and the top cities in Southeast Asia; complete the construction of a smart city connected and synchronized with the smart city network in the country and Southeast Asia. By 2045, Da Nang will be one of the digital technology and innovation industrial centers of Vietnam and Southeast Asia with a digital economy scale reaching at least 60% of the total product in the area (GRDP).

To successfully achieve the above goals, the action program sets out 6 main groups of tasks and solutions: raising awareness, making breakthroughs in innovative thinking, creating new momentum and momentum in the whole society in developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; urgently completing and effectively implementing mechanisms and policies; increasing investment, perfecting science and technology infrastructure, innovation and digital transformation; developing and promoting high-quality human resources and talents; promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology in the activities of agencies in the political system; strengthening international cooperation and strongly promoting science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation in enterprises.

Aiming to become a high-tech center

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Ho Ky Minh pointed out that with the strategic advantage of favorable geographical location; developed network infrastructure system, information technology infrastructure; attractive investment incentives and support policies; high-quality living environment and the determined support of the city government, especially the advantage of young, dynamic and high-quality human resources, Da Nang aims to become the high-tech center of the country with a focus on semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence in accordance with the goals set out in the Conclusions and Resolutions of the Politburo on building and developing Da Nang City by 2030, with a vision to 2045. The city is focusing on promoting digital transformation and developing AI applications in the fields of healthcare, education, tourism, logistics, public administrative services and smart cities...

At the Artificial Intelligence - New Driving Force for Da Nang Development Workshop held on May 9, Vice Chairman of the City Ho Ky Minh acknowledged that AI development is a long-term, challenging journey, requiring strategic vision and global connectivity, especially the attention to creating favorable mechanisms and policies from the government as well as the companionship and desire for continuous innovation of the young business community. Therefore, the Workshop is an opportunity for Da Nang to listen to contributions from experts, investors, leading enterprises, and the young business community at home and abroad to perfect an AI development plan with highly practical and feasible solutions, in line with world trends and the city's specific conditions.

According to the Vice Chairman of the city, Da Nang has prepared land, infrastructure, human resources and is continuing to perfect support mechanisms and policies to attract more domestic and international resources, contributing to building a modern, dynamic and sustainable technology ecosystem.
