Outstanding fruit varieties at the 20th Southern Fruit Festival

The Southern Fruit Festival has been one of the unique tourism events of Ho Chi Minh City since 2004 and is held annually at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism from June 1st until the end of summer. Over the past 20 years, the Southern Fruit Festival has created many unique and special marks, leaving unforgettable impressions in the hearts of domestic and foreign tourists.

With the orientation of the Festival to enhance international integration, the 20th Southern Fruit Festival - Suoi Tien Farm Festival is held on a large scale with many cultural festivals to introduce to domestic and international tourists the unique, rich and diverse varieties of regional fruits across the country.

Through the festival, the Organizing Committee wants to honor the achievements of labor in the agricultural sector, preserve, develop and promote Vietnamese culture, arts, tourism and cuisine, contributing to enhancing friendship between Vietnam and other countries.

According to Ms. Bui Thi To Trinh, Deputy General Director of Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism, this year's Southern Fruit Festival is also a highlight in the series of events of the second Ho Chi Minh City River Festival with many special activities.

It can be said that the most anticipated activity during each Festival season is the "Specialty Fruit Market" - a place that gathers hundreds of varieties of fresh, ripe early-season fruits, along with OCOP products from many localities from all over the country, with fresh, delicious quality, sold at prices 20-30% cheaper than the market.

The festival introduces many kinds of fruits from different regions.

The Fruit Art Competition is one of the main activities of the Southern Fruit Festival 2024. The competition will introduce to domestic and international visitors many unique and impressive fruit art works made by the skillful hands of artisans from provinces and cities across the country.

In addition, in response to World Environment Day, conveying the message of joining hands to protect the environment, aiming for a green and sustainable lifestyle, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism organized the Green Unity Campaign for the first time. The contest attracted many creative ideas to register for the contest with many unique and practical works, conveying a strong message.

In addition, as part of a series of activities calling for the spirit of green - clean - healthy living, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism in collaboration with the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone organized an exhibition, introducing to visitors a model of high-tech agricultural planting and cultivation with a model of cherry tomatoes grown on substrates, a model of vertical hydroponic vegetable growing... consulting on creating a green lifestyle in the heart of the city.

At the same time, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism cooperated with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations to organize the inauguration ceremony of the "Friendship Garden" at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism with the participation of Consulates of 27 countries, and organized cultural and artistic exchanges with Vietnam's friendship associations with other countries.

Coming to the 20th Southern Fruit Festival, visitors will witness a parade with the theme "Suoi Tien Farm - Turning the waves to reach out" which is splendidly decorated with the theme of international integration, cultural and artistic exchange with countries in the ASEAN bloc through images: National flags, national flowers, costumes, traditional songs and dances of the countries, creating a festival with brilliant cultural colors.
