With the goal of becoming a multi-disciplinary, multi-field university with a research orientation, meeting the needs of sustainable development and international integration of the country, this year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law opens two new training majors: International Business, Finance - Banking.
The Finance-Banking training program is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in professional knowledge, skills, practical abilities, etc., ensuring that students can learn proactively and gain practical experience.
The objective of the Finance-Banking training program is to help learners gain knowledge of social sciences in general and in-depth knowledge of the specialized fields of Finance-Banking in particular.
In particular, the International Business training program is a combination of international business knowledge and international law, a strength that not many other programs possess. This is a great advantage for students to meet the job requirements at international and regional enterprises, especially in the context of increasingly deep globalization as today.
Master Vu Dinh Le, Deputy Head of Admissions Consulting Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said: The International Business training program aims to train human resources with solid professional knowledge and specialized professional practice skills in the field of international business.
Specifically, this industry provides training related to knowledge of international trade and international investment, as well as legal knowledge related to international business activities... to meet the demand for high-quality human resources in the context of integration and development of the country.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics opens three new training programs: Data Analysis, Sustainable Business and Environmental Management, International Human Resource Training Program in Finance and Banking. Of which, Data Analysis is the first independent training program to be recruited in Vietnam, with an enrollment target of 40 students.
Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technology, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: Big Data and data analysis are global trends. In the digital technology race, most businesses in many fields from banking to technology, healthcare, retail, etc. have recruitment needs.

Therefore, the outstanding feature of this program is the integration of knowledge between economics, management and information technology. The program focuses on data analysis in technology, using data analysis to optimize and support decision making in areas such as smart cities, urban management...
Students can choose to major in business data analysis or technology-oriented data analysis. It is predicted that the income of new graduates is from 10-18 million VND/month; with two years of experience or more, the salary is over 20-30 million VND/month.
According to experts, sustainable development has become a mandatory criterion in most countries in the world, including Vietnam. According to the World Economic Forum's employment report published earlier this year, the demand for human resources in the sustainable development sector will grow by about 33-34% per year.
Currently, 78% of Vietnamese enterprises are in need of human resources for sustainable development but have not been able to meet their needs. There is no university in Vietnam that trains human resources in this field, so enterprises are forced to recruit university graduates from other fields, showing that the demand of the labor market is very high.
“Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is the first higher education institution in Vietnam to offer undergraduate training in Business and Environmental Sustainability Management to meet the demand for recruiting high-quality human resources in this field,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thi Mai Hoai, Director of the Institute of Sustainable Finance, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
To meet the needs of the labor market in the new context, the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) opened a new major in Educational Technology in the 2025 enrollment season, with an expected enrollment target of 70 students. This is a major that combines technology and education, in line with the trend of innovative teaching methods in the digital age, with a modern, interdisciplinary training program that combines education, technology and administration.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City National University continues to open a number of new interdisciplinary and inter-school training programs to provide high-quality human resources such as new energy (renewable energy, nuclear power), new logistics (serving metro operations, Long Thanh international airport, high-speed railway, etc.).
Referring to the development of high-quality human resources in a number of key, urgent, and priority areas, Dr. Ho Ba Tham, Vietnam Association for Human Resources and Talent Development - Ho Chi Minh City, said that relevant units need to focus on prioritizing the development of high-quality, talented human resources associated with new, advanced science and technology and innovation; green human resources associated with green transformation and green growth; human resources to meet the transformation of the organizational model of the apparatus and national governance, as well as education and training human resources to create a foundation for the present and future of the country.
