
The QS AUR 2026 is the largest ranking ever, with 1,529 higher education institutions from 25 countries and territories in Asia, including 558 universities participating for the first time. The results are based on more than 1.5 million votes from academics and 520,000 votes from employers worldwide. In addition, QS analyzed more than 200 million citations from 19.8 million scientific publications.
The ranking results of Hanoi National University clearly reflect the remarkable improvement in the groups of criteria with high weights, especially the criteria that directly assess the quality of training and research. In particular, the two most important criteria, Academic reputation (weight 30%) and Recruitment reputation (weight 20%) both increased sharply, reaching 122nd (up 14 places) and 128th (up 9 places) respectively.
These results affirm that the prestige and quality of training and research of Hanoi National University are increasingly appreciated by the international academic community and employers.

The quality and research capacity of Hanoi National University is clearly demonstrated through the ranking criteria of international research network, when the school increased 14 places, entering the top 75 leading universities in Asia. This index shows the level of deep international integration and cooperation in research activities of units and scientists of Hanoi National University.
With the expansion of the QS AUR 2026 rankings, Vietnam has 25 ranked higher education institutions, of which 8 are participating for the first time. Of the institutions that were present in the previous ranking, 7 improved their ranking, 1 remained the same, and 9 dropped in their ranking position.
In the QS AUR 2026 rankings, the University of Hong Kong (China) ranked first in Asia. In Southeast Asia, the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) tied for third in Asia. Along with the expansion of the rankings, China and India are the two countries with the largest number of ranked higher education institutions, 394 and 294 respectively.
