This year's Vesak Festival is an international cultural and religious activity, an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce to friends around the world a country that loves peace , friendliness, solidarity and development.

This is a special event taking place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of National Day.

This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the Vesak Festival and the first time it has been held in Ho Chi Minh City. The event has the participation of more than 80 countries and territories.

Delegates perform the opening ceremony of the Press Center serving the 2025 UN Vesak Celebration.

The 2025 UN Vesak Celebration will take place from May 6 to 8 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy with the main theme: "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development".

Within the framework of the Great Festival, many meaningful activities took place such as: International conference with nearly 1,000 presentations, traditional spiritual rituals, Buddha bathing ceremony, Buddhist cultural exhibition, international art program, gratitude to martyrs, world peace prayer ceremony... Especially the activity of enshrining and worshiping Buddha's relics, heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc.

Speaking at the press conference, Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said: The 2025 UN Vesak Festival has received great attention from the leaders of the Party, the State, Ho Chi Minh City, the international community and Buddhists. To date, about 1,300 international delegates and more than 1,500 domestic delegates have registered to attend. The Organizing Committee updates official information about the activities of the Festival to press agencies through the press center.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the 2025 UN Vesak Festival will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam radio.
