The information was shared by Mr. Sandeep Arya - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam - at a press conference on the afternoon of May 15 in Hanoi .

In Hanoi, the number of people coming to Quan Su Pagoda to worship Buddha's relics was so large that the organizers had to open it all night to serve the people's needs.

The number of Vietnamese people worshiping Buddha's relics is equal to that of other countries.

Mr. Sandeep Arya said the number of people paying homage to Buddha's relics in Vietnam is equivalent to that in Thailand, Sri Lanka and Mongolia, places where Buddha's relics have been brought in recent years.

Last year, when Buddha's relics arrived in Thailand, the number of people coming to worship was about 4.5 million.

The Indian government considers the Buddha's relics a national treasure, treats them with the highest ceremony, and sends military planes to bring the relics to Vietnam, accompanied by ministers.

Ambassador Sandeep Arya said that from the perspective of the Indian government and people, he was very pleased with the respect and affection that the Vietnamese people have shown for the Buddha's relics in recent days.

Up to this point, the Indian Government is very satisfied with the organization. The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and relevant agencies have done a very good job, ensuring convenience for people to come and worship.

Touching stories

Ambassador Sandeep Arya said he was moved when he saw and heard the stories of people coming to pay homage to Buddha's relics.

Like the story of people waiting for three hours in harsh weather conditions to see the Buddha's relics for a moment. It shows the religious belief, faith and special feelings of the people.

This belief, according to him, helps us to be calmer and more serene in our extremely complex and changing daily lives.

The Indian Ambassador was also very moved to hear about groups donating to Buddhists from far away places to pay homage to the relics. These are very beautiful gestures.
