At the Embassy, the Memorial Ceremony for Comrade Tran Duc Luong was solemnly held with the participation of all officials and staff of the Embassy and neighboring agencies, representatives of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in the capital Canberra.
After a solemn moment of silence, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam was moved to recall the great contributions of comrade Tran Duc Luong to the cause of national defense and construction, with special marks being two important summits including the Francophonie Summit 1997 and the Asia-Europe Summit (ASEM) 2004.

On behalf of the Embassy, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam respectfully wrote in the condolence book: "The staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and neighboring agencies deeply mourn and pay their respects to comrade Tran Duc Luong, former member of the Politburo , former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. We will always remember and be extremely grateful for his great contributions to the cause of national revolution and the cause of national renewal and development. We will strive to learn and follow his example to actively contribute to the cause of protecting, building and developing the Fatherland of Vietnam."

The Embassy opened a condolence book on May 24-25 to welcome government representatives, diplomatic missions, the community, Vietnamese students, and local friends to pay their respects to comrade Tran Duc Luong.
