Scientific workshop 'Assessing the current situation of the Diplomatic sector'

On the afternoon of May 23, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry's Office organized a scientific workshop with the theme "Assessing the current situation of the Diplomatic sector", attracting the participation of many leaders of units, cadres, civil servants, public employees, experts and researchers inside and outside the Ministry. Master Nguyen Hoai Nam, Chief of the Ministry's Office, chaired the workshop.

The workshop is one of the activities within the framework of the sub-topic of the Ministry-level Key Science and Technology Research Program "Building a comprehensive and modern Diplomacy sector in the new era".

The objective of the Workshop is to create a forum for in-depth scientific exchange, listen to professional opinions on the domestic and international context; thereby, assess the current situation and results of the implementation of the development of the Diplomatic sector, and at the same time propose directions and solutions on the organization of the apparatus and resources to serve the development of the sector.

In his opening speech, Chief of the Ministry Office Nguyen Hoai Nam emphasized the importance of the Workshop in focusing on clarifying the approach, assessment methods, challenges, obstacles, as well as factors affecting the current situation of the Diplomatic sector from the perspective of an organization. At the same time, he expected the delegates to contribute their wisdom to make the Workshop an effective and practical scientific exchange.

The workshop received and discussed 8 presentations from prestigious scholars and leaders of units directly involved in related work such as: Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Acting Director of the Diplomatic Academy; Dr. Phan Dang Son, Institute of State Organization and Labor Sciences, Ministry of Home Affairs ; Dr. Nguyen Hai Luu, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Policy, and representatives of many units inside and outside the Ministry.

The content of the presentations focused on two major groups of issues: (i) Theoretical and practical basis for building the Diplomatic sector; (ii) Assessment of the current situation and proposed solutions for building a comprehensive and modern Diplomatic sector.

The discussion session was lively with many practical opinions, especially proposals to improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs work and build the image of a professional and modern diplomatic sector in the new era.

In his closing speech, Chief of the Ministry Office Nguyen Hoai Nam sincerely thanked and highly appreciated the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of the delegates, affirming that these are important scientific and practical bases to help the research team complete the Project, making a practical contribution to the process of building a comprehensive and modern Diplomacy sector in the coming time.
