Memorial service and condolence book opening for former President Tran Duc Luong in Mozambique

Speaking at the Memorial Ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin emotionally recalled the important contributions of comrade Tran Duc Luong.

All staff of the Embassy and many people in the Vietnamese community in Mozambique at the Memorial Ceremony and opening of the condolence book for former President Tran Duc Luong.

On May 24, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book for comrade Tran Duc Luong, former Politburo member and former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, with the participation of all Embassy staff and a large number of Vietnamese people in Mozambique.

Speaking at the memorial service, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin was moved to recall the important contributions of comrade Tran Duc Luong. Throughout his career, regardless of his position, he left deep impressions, devoted himself, and made great contributions to the cause of national construction and development, and national defense. The passing of formerPresident Tran Duc Luong left deep sorrow in the hearts of compatriots, comrades, and international friends.

Following the example of former President Tran Duc Luong, the staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Mozambique will continue to strive to fulfill all assigned tasks, strengthen the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Mozambique in all aspects, build a united and cohesive Vietnamese community in Mozambique, act as a bridge of friendship between the two countries, and actively turn towards the homeland.

On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique welcomed many people in the community, local and international friends to visit and sign the condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong, including Ms. Ludmila Maguni, Secretary in charge of foreign affairs of the Central Executive Committee of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Farghal, representatives of the Mozambique-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Movitel Company...

Ms. Ludmila Maguni, Secretary in charge of foreign affairs of the Central Committee of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) wrote in the condolence book.

On behalf of the Mozambique Liberation Front, Ms. Ludmila Maguni emotionally wrote: “The Mozambique Liberation Front is deeply shocked to hear of the passing of comrade Tran Duc Luong, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. At this time of sorrow, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Government and people of Vietnam, as well as the family of the deceased.”

Egyptian Ambassador to Mozambique Mohamed Farghal wrote: “Egypt sends its deepest condolences on the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong. He held the position of President at a crucial time in Vietnam’s history, a period when economic reform was maintained. As Deputy Prime Minister, and later President, he played an active role in helping the country change, ensuring development alongside stability.”

To create conditions for local and international friends and Vietnamese people in Mozambique to express their feelings and commemorate former President Tran Duc Luong, the condolence book will be open at the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique until May 26.
