At the meeting, General Phan Van Giang and delegates watched a video report on the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan, national defense, security, and foreign affairs in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025 of Lang Son province.
Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have focused on leading and directing the effective implementation of Conclusion No. 123 dated January 24, 2025 of the Party Central Committee on the Project on supplementing socio-economic development in 2025; Resolution No. 25 dated February 5, 2025 of the Government on growth targets for sectors, fields and localities to ensure the national growth target in 2025 reaches 8% or more. The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council have issued a Resolution, the Provincial People's Committee has issued an implementation plan, in which the target of the province's economic growth rate in 2025 is determined to reach 8.75% and strive for a growth rate of 10.1% under favorable conditions.
The province has promptly supported businesses to overcome difficulties, promote production and business, accelerate disbursement of public investment capital, actively implement key projects, exploit potentials and advantages, and attract many strategic investors to the province. Promote administrative reform, digital transformation, foreign affairs activities, improve customs clearance capacity, create favorable conditions to attract businesses to import and export goods through the area. In 2024, especially in the first quarter of 2025, the province's economy will develop synchronously and comprehensively, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) will increase by 8.27%, ranking 23rd out of 63 provinces and cities; ranking 7th out of 14 provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region; total import and export turnover through the province will increase by 24%; industrial production will increase by 5.22%; budget revenue will increase by 24.8%...
Party building and the political system are given importance, and the organizational arrangement of Party organizations, Party agencies, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and agencies and units of provincial and district government has been completed.
Defense diplomacy and people's diplomacy activities have been deployed extensively and effectively, enhancing the close relationship with the government and people of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China), creating favorable conditions for people on both sides of the border to exchange economic, political, cultural and social affairs, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and sustainable border area. In particular, closely coordinating with the Ministry of National Defense to direct forces to proactively and actively prepare well for the 9th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.
At the meeting, delegates had many opinions exchanged and clarified some contents in the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, national defense, security and foreign affairs of Lang Son province.
Speaking at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, commended the results and achievements that the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Lang Son province have achieved in recent times.
He suggested: The Party Committees and authorities at all levels of Lang Son province continue to lead and direct the effective implementation of the Central Committee's resolutions and conclusions on Party building and rectification, in conjunction with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, maintaining the people's trust in the Party and the government. Determined to comprehensively implement the goals and targets set by the Provincial Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress, paying special attention to the work of preparing personnel for Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.
Continue to build strong, streamlined, effective and efficient political and social organizations; well implement regulations on setting examples, especially key cadres at all levels; attach importance to Party development, take care of building and training cadres, especially leaders, managers, young cadres, female cadres, and ethnic minority cadres, to meet the requirements of construction and development of the province.
Focus on improving people's lives, including continuing to effectively implement the Government's emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor" in the province. Pay attention to and create conditions for the construction of national defense works, ensuring good service for training tasks, combat readiness, improving defensive combat capabilities in the area, meeting the requirements of national defense and security tasks.
At the meeting, Minister Phan Van Giang directed Viettel Industry and Telecommunications Group to support Lang Son province with 300 houses for the poor in the province. Minister Phan Van Giang believes that with the tradition and achievements, the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Lang Son province will continue to develop strongly in the coming time.
Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Van Nghiem affirmed: Inheriting the achieved results, entering 2025, a year of important significance, with many important events of the country, is the final year of the term to implement the 5-year plan for the period 2021-2025 and to hold Party congresses at all levels. With high political determination, right from the beginning of the year, the entire political system of the province has actively participated in synchronously and drastically implementing tasks and solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan and the state budget estimate for 2025.
The Party Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in Lang Son province continue to hope to receive more attention, direction, guidance, support and facilitation from the Party, State, central ministries, branches and the Minister of National Defense and the members of the working delegation so that Lang Son province can develop comprehensively and sustainably.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary fully accepted the opinions of the Minister of National Defense to focus on leading and directing the implementation of goals and tasks on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense, security and foreign affairs of the province in the coming time.
