Document sent to People's Committees of communes, wards and educational establishments in the area, requesting to continue to strictly implement regulations on food safety and hygiene, disease prevention and food poisoning in schools.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Luu Tien Quang, units need to step up propaganda work, raise awareness and responsibility of managers, teachers, staff, students and parents. Heads of educational institutions must promote their roles and responsibilities in ensuring food safety and disease prevention.

For facilities with collective kitchens, the directive emphasizes compliance with regulations on dining halls, canteens, warehouses, as well as requirements for food processing and preservation staff according to Circular 46/2010/TT-BYT. Schools must strictly manage food sources: sign contracts with legally qualified suppliers, prioritize VietGAP, OCOP products or safe local food sources; at the same time, store food samples daily and comply with Decision 1246/QD-BYT on three-step food inspection.
In addition, educational establishments must ensure the quality of water sources for processing and serving food; regularly check and maintain water filtration systems, arrange kitchens according to one-way processes, equip refrigerators, storage warehouses, and separate processing areas. Processing stages must be closely monitored to minimize the risk of food safety loss.
The document also requires schools to promptly handle and report to health agencies and relevant authorities when they discover or suspect that a student has food poisoning, in order to ensure absolute safety for students.
In the 2025-2026 school year, Dak Lak province will have 1,379 schools and educational institutions with more than 700,000 students and 38,441 officials, teachers and staff.
