Enterprises and establishments in the stone mining industry for construction materials are currently attracting and creating jobs for a large number of workers. Therefore, in recent times, enterprises and establishments in the stone mining industry for construction materials in the province have proactively implemented solutions to ensure safety for workers.

Thien Tan Joint Stock Company specializes in manufacturing construction materials with labor conditions that are arduous, toxic and dangerous, with the potential for occupational accidents. Currently, the company is exploiting stone for construction materials at Tan Lam A and B mines (Cam Lo district) with more than 150 workers working directly and indirectly at the mines.

To ensure occupational safety and health, in recent years, Thien Tan Joint Stock Company has regularly done a good job of propaganda andeducation for staff and workers to effectively implement the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers" associated with the movement "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health". The contents and criteria that Thien Tan Joint Stock Company sets out such as workers conducting stone mining and processing must comply with the provisions of the law on occupational safety and health.

Workers must be in good health and undergo annual health check-ups according to current regulations of competent health authorities. Workers must be trained in occupational safety and health according to regulations before being assigned to work at the mine.

Thien Tan Joint Stock Company always implements labor protection policies for employees such as: providing personal protective equipment, regimes, working hours, rest time, in-kind compensation and other related policies. In dangerous areas, there must be signs, safety instructions, accident prevention boards placed in easy-to-see, easy-to-read locations. Locations of equipment, power stations... must have regulations on operation and labor safety.

Houses and structures within the construction site must meet fire and explosion prevention requirements. Workers' accommodation and meals must be isolated from the stone production and processing areas. Employers must periodically and suddenly report on occupational safety and health according to regulations. Workers must use all personal protective equipment provided and strictly comply with occupational safety and health regulations at the workplace.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thien Tan Quang Tri Joint Stock Company, Duong Van Son, said that to ensure occupational safety and health, the company always proactively develops a labor protection plan every year. In which, it focuses on developing measures and solutions to improve working conditions, production organization processes and measures to ensure occupational safety.

Annually, Thien Tan Joint Stock Company organizes training on occupational safety and health techniques, safety procedures in stone mining and processing, operating machinery and equipment, and using electricity for staff, workers, and laborers; fully equips them with personal protective equipment; conducts periodic health checks, health classification, thereby arranging work suitable to the health conditions of workers, especially female workers. For workers in groups 1, 2, 3, every 2 years, the company coordinates with a competent center to provide occupational safety and health training; for workers in group 4, the company organizes training itself.

Thien Tan Joint Stock Company also focuses on organizing fire prevention and fighting drills, responding to unsafe incidents in production areas. Coordinate with functional units to inspect equipment with strict requirements on labor safety. The union, together with the company's expertise, organizes regular and surprise inspections in areas with risks of labor safety loss to detect, prevent and minimize occupational accidents.

In addition, Thien Tan Joint Stock Company has invested in installing a water spray system to limit dust for the crushing and screening machines to the material conveyor belts. Regularly improve and upgrade production lines, technology, equipment and conduct annual periodic inspections. Thanks to good work safety and health, in recent years, Thien Tan Joint Stock Company has not had any serious work accidents. It can be said that ensuring occupational safety and health has contributed to helping the company successfully complete its production and business tasks, improving the material and spiritual life of its workers.

In the province, there are many enterprises and construction material production facilities operating in the fields of: construction stone mining, production of burnt and unburnt bricks, ready-mixed concrete, sand and gravel mining, etc. Ensuring occupational safety and health is always the motto that units and enterprises aim for in the production and business process in order to create a safe working environment for workers. Relevant sectors and localities need to organize inspections and supervision of the implementation of regulations on occupational safety and health for quarries being exploited in the province to detect and correct shortcomings in occupational safety and health work.

For enterprises and establishments exploiting stone for construction materials, they must ensure the conditions and procedures related to stone exploitation activities according to the provisions of law. At the same time, they are responsible for organizing construction and exploitation in accordance with approved designs; in accordance with technical standards and regulations on safety in open-pit stone exploitation; fully comply with regulations on occupational safety and health; manage and use industrial explosives and other provisions of law in stone exploitation activities.
