Training militia and self-defense forces is both a requirement and an important task in local defense and military work. In order to carry out this task well, in recent years, the Provincial Military Command has focused on leading and closely directing the preparation work, actively implementing training content and methods close to the actual situation at the base.
Entering the 2025 training season, closely following the direction of superiors, the Quang Yen Town Military Command has promptly advised the local Party Committee and authorities to proactively deploy the preparation work for training of militia and self-defense forces, strictly maintaining the approved training order and plan.
During the training process, the unit proactively combined military training with political education, dissemination of laws, and at the same time promoted propaganda and agitation on the training ground. This helped soldiers have more motivation and actively practice to achieve high results.
Not only in Quang Yen town, military agencies at all levels in the province have also proactively implemented the training of militia and self-defense forces. Entering the training season, units have promoted the movement of promoting initiatives, improving teaching models, preparing materials, lesson plans, lectures, training grounds, and training grounds; competing to train well, have strict discipline, and achieve high results.
The units have well implemented the training motto of "basic, practical, quality" close to the requirements of each locality's tasks; well implemented the principle of linking theory with practice, between theory and practice, focusing on practice. Thereby, gradually building an increasingly strong militia force, capable of completing all assigned tasks.
According to the leaders of the Provincial Military Command, deeply aware of the position, role and importance of the task of training the militia and self-defense forces, every year, the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the military and defense policies and guidelines of the Party and State on improving the quality of militia and self-defense force training. On that basis, they propose leadership policies and plans to organize the implementation of militia and self-defense force training tasks with specific goals, targets and measures, close to combat reality, suitable for the organization, staffing and weapons and equipment of the militia and self-defense forces.
Before implementing widespread training, the Provincial Military Command always organizes pilot training to gain experience; at the same time, directs the Military Commands of districts, towns and cities in the province to organize training courses and professional development for officers of the Military Commands of communes, wards and towns, commanders of self-defense units and mobile militia officers.
Notably, before entering the 2025 training season, the Provincial Military Command organized 32 training courses, with 4,930 officers participating. Thereby, contributing to improving the management and command capacity of training for the team of officers doing training work for the militia and self-defense forces according to their assigned duties and responsibilities.
In particular, in military training, military agencies at all levels in the province have creatively applied techniques and tactics, theory and practice, focusing on improving the mobility of the militia and self-defense forces; focused on training each group, especially first-year soldiers; combined political and ideologicaleducation and discipline training with building a regular system, strengthened inspection and supervision, promptly corrected shortcomings to improve the responsibility of each individual in performing tasks.
With many solutions in training the militia, the quality of militia training has been increasingly improved in recent years. The number of troops participating in training in recent years has always reached over 98%, the annual training quality assessment test shows that 100% of individual subjects meet the requirements, of which more than 80% are good or excellent.
In the coming time, the Provincial Military Command will continue to do a good job of advising local Party committees and authorities to strengthen the leadership of Party committees and the effectiveness of state management of authorities at all levels in the work of building the militia and self-defense force; regularly organize well the preliminary and final reviews, draw lessons; replicate advanced models, continue to build a strong militia and self-defense force to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
