The Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summarizes the work in 2023 and deploys tasks in 2024

On January 10, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a conference to review the work in 2023, deploy key tasks in 2024 and award Party badges to party members in the Party Committee.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended and chaired the Conference.

Attending the Conference were comrade Nguyen Quang Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies; Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry; Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry; members of the Standing Committee; members of the Executive Committee; secretaries and deputy secretaries of the affiliated Party Committees; leaders of the Party building committees; leaders of departments, offices, units, Chairman of the Ministry's Trade Union, and representatives of the Ministry's Youth Union.

At the Conference, delegates listened to the report summarizing the Party's work in 2023 and the directions and key tasks in 2024 of the Ministry's Party Committee.

Accordingly, in 2023, the Party Committee of the Ministry will step up the implementation of Party building and rectification work, creating a clear change in awareness and action from Party committees and Party cells, in which the Party Committee will continue to implement Conclusion No. 21-KL/TW on promoting Party building and rectification and the political system, organize the dissemination of Resolutions of the 13th Party Central Committee 6, 7, and 8, and successfully organize the 32nd Diplomatic Conference, to summarize the leadership and direction of the implementation of foreign affairs tasks and all aspects of Party building work in the first half of the 13th Congress term.

Political and ideological work continued to achieve many outstanding results, especially in protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

Inspection and supervision work is focused on, with close coordination between the Party Executive Committee and the Standing Committee and related units to develop and implement inspection and supervision programs.

Research and advisory work has been strengthened, and the Secretariat has been advised to approve the content of the Project on regulations on inspection and supervision of party organizations and party members abroad.

The Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry have been given attention and timely consolidation; the assignment and division of tasks are clear, and activities are orderly and methodical.

Regarding the direction and key tasks of work in 2024, a year of special significance in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Party Committee of the Ministry focuses on key leadership tasks in implementing political tasks and Party building work, implementing the resolution of the 32nd Diplomatic Conference and the Conclusion of the Plenary Conference on Party building work and Party work abroad.

Continue to improve the quality of dissemination, propaganda and implementation of resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Committee and the Party Committee of the Central Agencies.

Strengthen the work of organizing and managing party members, inspection, supervision, and internal political protection; thoroughly implement the Secretariat's Regulations on inspection and supervision of party organizations and party members abroad.

Leading mass organizations and people at home and abroad; promoting grassroots democracy regulations; regulations on mass mobilization work; strengthening close relationships and solidarity with the overseas Vietnamese community towards the homeland and contributing their enthusiasm and intelligence to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Speaking at the Conference, comrade Nguyen Quang Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Bloc, highly appreciated the achievements in 2023. The Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges, led and directed Party committees at all levels at home and abroad to actively and proactively deploy tasks, clearly identify the focus, promote the sense of responsibility, proactiveness and creativity to ensure the completion of the entire program and work plan for 2023 with a large and complicated workload and many unexpected tasks.

Thanks to that, the results of leadership, direction, consulting, research, serving foreign affairs activities and the tasks of Party building and industry building in 2023 are increasingly substantive and stable, making important contributions to foreign affairs achievements, being a highlight in the country's overall achievements in 2023, Party building work in the Party Committee has many clear changes in all aspects of work.

The conference listened to additional discussion opinions and approved the Draft Report summarizing the work in 2023, the directions and key tasks in 2024 of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Draft Working Program of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry in 2024 and the Draft Conclusion of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the orientation of work tasks in 2024.

Concluding the Conference, Minister Bui Thanh Son, Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Ministry's Party Committee, acknowledged the efforts and results achieved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Party Committee in 2023.

The Minister also emphasized that 2024 is an important year in promoting the implementation and striving to complete the goals of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 28th National Party Congress of the Ministry and the Resolution of the 32nd Diplomatic Conference.

On the basis of the growth and maturity of 78 years of glorious tradition of the diplomatic sector, in the coming time, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to link the task of Party building with the work of building the sector, promote foreign affairs resources, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Party work abroad.

In the coming time, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, generations of diplomatic officials will continue the nation's tradition of foreign affairs, trust, support and meet the expectations of the Party, State and people as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has entrusted.

On the occasion of summarizing the Party's work in 2023, the Party Committee of the Ministry solemnly held a ceremony to award the 60-year Party membership badge to comrade Nguyen Dy Nien, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and former leaders of the Ministry, former Ambassadors, leaders of departments, offices, units and Party members in the Ministry were awarded the 55, 50, 45, 40, 30-year Party membership badges.

Speaking at the Party Badge Award Ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Dy Nien expressed his emotion and honor at receiving the noble and sacred award of the Party and pride in the great achievements of the Diplomatic sector, especially in 2023 as noted by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 32nd Diplomatic Conference.

He emphasized his belief that generations of diplomatic staff will uphold the fine tradition, continue to contribute to the revolutionary cause in general and the development of the diplomatic sector in particular, constantly strive, train, and make efforts to fulfill the important responsibilities assigned by the Party and the People, and contribute to the cause of building, protecting and developing the country.
