Attending the event were representatives of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and departments and branches in the city, along with many leaders and former leaders of the City Journalists Association, Heads of representative offices, and resident reporters of central and local press agencies located in the city.
President Ho Chi Minh - the great and genius leader of our nation, the national liberation hero, a great writer, poet and journalist. The founder and builder of the Vietnamese revolutionary press. During his lifetime, he soon realized the role and great impact of the press in the revolutionary cause of fighting for national independence and building a new life for the people.

For him, the press was a sharp weapon to attack the enemy, a means to mobilize and gather revolutionary forces, and organize to carry out revolutionary goals quickly, widely and effectively.
According to his point of view, the press is a weapon of struggle, so revolutionary press must first of all have a fighting, orienting and mass character in order to propagate, agitate, train,educate and organize the people, leading them to the common goal of resistance and nation building. “Press cadres are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons,” Uncle Ho emphasized.
Imbued with the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and in Hue in particular have continuously grown and matured, always taking the lead in propagating Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's revolutionary policies and lines, mobilizing and encouraging all classes of people to firmly believe in the Party, unite to build the country and homeland to become more prosperous and develop sustainably.

At the flower offering ceremony to pay tribute to Uncle Ho, city leaders, press agencies and generations of journalists in the city observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of our Party and people.
“Hue Press in the Flow of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press”
*On the same day, at the Ho Chi Minh President Museum in Hue City, the Hue City Journalists Association coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City to organize the opening of the thematic exhibition "Hue Press in the Flow of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press".
A century has passed since the first issue of Thanh Nien newspaper, founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc - President Ho Chi Minh, was published on June 21, 1925 abroad. The history of the national press has gone through many ups and downs and has become an important part of the revolutionary cause, a sharp weapon in the struggle for national independence and national unification.

Although it was born later than Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Hue's press immediately made a big splash, especially patriotic and revolutionary newspapers, such as Tieng Dan of Huynh Thuc Khang (the first Vietnamese newspaper in Central Vietnam, with the first issue published on August 10, 1927 and the last issue published on April 24, 1943, with a total of 1,766 issues); Con Duong Dau Tranh of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee in 1930 (the first newspaper directly organized and directed by the Provincial Party Committee and also the predecessor of today's City Party Committee newspaper).
The exhibition “Hue Press in the Flow of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press” introduces to the public over 200 artifacts, documents, and images related to the history of the birth of patriotic press, revolutionary press in Hue from 1926 to 1945, the early years after the August Revolution, during the resistance war against France and America.

The exhibition displays 3 parts, including: Part I: "Journalist Ho Chi Minh - Founder and trainer of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism"; Part II: "Hue journalism in the flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism" (including: Patriotic journalism in Hue before 1930, City Party Committee journalism, period 1930-1945, City Party Committee journalism during the resistance war against France 1945-1954 and City Party Committee journalism during the resistance war against America to save the country 1954-1975) and Part III: "Hue journalism after 1975".
The display of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing images and documents in each group of "Revolutionary Press", "Patriotic Press" and "Revolutionary Press" before 1975 has helped the public identify press publications, historical revolutionary events, Vietnamese grammar and structure of each period...

Journalist Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam, President of the Hue City Journalists Association and Director of Hue Radio and Television Station, said that the exhibition “Hue Press in the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press” aims to introduce and honor President Ho Chi Minh - a revolutionary, journalist, and the pioneer of the Vietnamese revolutionary press; affirm the contributions of patriotic and revolutionary journalism in Hue, and at the same time pay tribute to outstanding journalists throughout each historical period.
“This exhibition has special significance, contributing to the propaganda to help the younger generation understand more about the development process, the role of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general, and the patriotic and revolutionary press in Hue in particular, in the movement for national liberation and national unification, especially the power of the media and press in the current cause of national construction and protection,” emphasized journalist Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam.

In addition to displaying the above contents, the exhibition space also introduces artifacts and products through each development stage of the two press agencies, Hue Today Newspaper and Hue Radio and Television. Delegates listened to an introduction about the formation and development process of Hue press in the flow of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
