On the morning of June 12, at the Memorial Site of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province solemnly held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the death of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet (May 8, 2008 - May 8, 2024 lunar calendar).

At the ceremony, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - former Vice President; Mr. Bui Van Nghiem - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province, together with leaders, former leaders of the province through the periods, relatives of the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet and local people respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the great contributions of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet - a loyal revolutionary soldier, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh , a prestigious leader of the Party and State, an outstanding son of Vinh Long homeland.

Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet's birth name was Phan Van Hoa, born on November 23, 1922 in Trung Hiep commune (Vung Liem). Throughout his revolutionary career, the Prime Minister was always loyal to the country, devoted to the people, lived a simple and modest life, and always put the interests of the Party, the country and the people above all else.

As the head of the Government, Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet made many breakthrough decisions to gradually bring the country out of the economic crisis and integrate with the world. On June 11, 2008, comrade Vo Van Kiet passed away, leaving behind endless sorrow for his compatriots, comrades and international friends. However, the Prime Minister's imprints will forever endure through time, serving as a shining example for the younger generation to continue to learn and develop.
