This morning, February 17, Thanh Nien Newspaper and the Border Guard Command of Ha Giang province, together with sponsors, held an inauguration ceremony for the memorial house to record the names of martyrs of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Guard Station, located in Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district, Ha Giang province.

The stele records the names of martyrs of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Post who sacrificed their lives in the fight to protect the northern border.

This is a project to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the battle to protect the northern border (February 17, 1979 - February 17, 2024).

The project was built from funds mobilized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, local people voluntarily donated land.

Mr. Hoang Mi Cau, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ma Le Commune, shared that local people have long wanted to have this project. When they heard that Lung Cu Border Guard Station and Thanh Nien Newspaper were mobilizing resources to build a project to honor martyrs, the local government promoted it and local people were willing to support and donate land to build the project.

After the inauguration ceremony, many local people and relatives of martyrs quietly lined up to offer incense and flowers to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.

The project is built on a total area of ​​600 m2 with many items, with a total investment of nearly 1 billion VND.

Holding a stick of incense and a white chrysanthemum in their hands, people lined up to respectfully pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.

The highlight of this project is the stone stele recording the names of 33 martyrs with full information about their full name, year of birth, rank, unit, enlistment, sacrifice, and hometown.

Among the people offering incense, there were many veterans who had fought to protect the northern border in Ma Le commune.

The stele is made of Thanh Hoa green stone, directly constructed by artisans in Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province.

Construction of the monument began in September 2023 and was inaugurated on February 17, 2024 - the 45th anniversary of the battle to protect the northern border.

The Monument House inscribed with the names of martyrs of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Post is an address for people and veterans to remember and pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, according to Thanh Nien , many local people respectfully lined up to offer flowers and incense to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the fight to protect the northern border.
