Emotional 50th Anniversary Festival of Binh Son High School

On the morning of August 31, Binh Son High School (Quang Ngai) was bustling with excitement on a big day: Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the school's founding (1975 - 2025). Everyone was immersed in the emotion of a half-century anniversary.

Thousands of former students of Binh Son High School ( Quang Ngai ) from all over the country, some of whom have been away from home for decades, now return to reunite under the roof of their old school. In tight embraces, with tears in their eyes, all join together on the anniversary day.

Journey of the school of love

Going back in time, Mr. Pham Thach Sinh, the school's principal, recalled: On October 15, 1975, the school named Binh Son High School was established from the old premises of the Catholic Phung Su High School.

At that time, the school had only 12 classrooms, 771 students and 20 young and enthusiastic teachers. Students from Binh Son, Tra Bong and even Ly Son island district gathered here.

Since those difficult days, generations of teachers and students have diligently taught and cultivated traditions. In 1988, the school moved to its current location, and gradually affirmed its position in the Quang Ngai education system.

Over the past half century, the school has witnessed the growth of 21,851 students, including thousands of excellent students at all levels, many of whom are successful and hold important positions in society.

The schoolyard on the morning of August 31 was bustling and filled with affection. In the light rain, former students held hands, smiling and crying. Mr. Doan Dung, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province, a former student, was moved: "The rain this morning seemed to make the handshakes warmer, the smiles friendlier after many years of separation. Although in the past there were many hardships, the teachers never complained, just quietly sowed knowledge, taught students to be good people. The teachers are the diligent bees, bringing sweet honey to life."

In the eyes of former students, the school is not only a place to study but also a place to preserve childhood and unforgettable memories. From that love, generations of students have joined hands to build facilities many times, notably the swimming pool project worth 1.8 billion VND in 2018, with 710 million VND contributed by former students.

On this occasion, the Binh Son High School alumni fund was officially launched, with individuals pledging to donate 100 million VND each year for 10 consecutive years, a vivid demonstration of the timeless teacher-student bond.

Meaningful gifts

The 50th anniversary also became a warm occasion for sharing. Thanh Nien Newspaper Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, donated 100 million VND from the Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship fund to the school, and also mobilized funding to build 6 new toilets worth 360 million VND.

A series of former students and philanthropists also contributed more than 2.3 billion VND to support the school in teaching and learning, helping students in difficulty. The scholarships and gifts were delivered directly, like bridges of love extending from the past to the present.

Mr. Ngo Duy Vu, a former student, donated 1 billion VND to support the alumni fund of Binh Son High School.

On stage, fresh bouquets of flowers were presented to teachers of many generations. Behind the tearful eyes was the deep gratitude of the students for the ferryman. On this occasion, 16 groups and individuals of Binh Son High School were awarded certificates of merit by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province; many teachers were recognized and honored by the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai province.

Over the past 50 years, Binh Son High School has overcome many ups and downs to become a bright spot in Quang Ngai's education. Each generation of students has left their footprints, and each teacher has contributed a part. Today's achievements are not only a golden record of achievements, but also a stream of affection, connecting the past with the present, nurturing the future.

In the resounding sound of the school drum during the celebration, thousands of former students turned their eyes to the red flag with yellow star fluttering above the stage, filled with pride. Binh Son School, the starting point of many dreams, continues to write a new page with solidarity, affection and aspiration to rise up.

The 50th anniversary is not only an occasion to celebrate, but also a reminder for today's and future generations to cherish and continue the tradition of Binh Son High School. As Principal Pham Thach Sinh emotionally shared: "Every achievement today has the shadow of teachers and generations of students who have passed. All of them make up a radiant Binh Son school, full of love."
