On the afternoon of November 2, Mr. Nguyen Tan, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hue City, announced that students would be allowed to stay home from school to prevent flooding.
According to authorities, the current flood situation in Hue city is complicated, and floodwaters on rivers continue to rise.

As of 5:00 p.m. the same day, flood water on the Huong River reached 3.28m, 0.22m lower than alert level 3; on the Bo River it reached 4.09m, 0.41m lower than alert level 3.
To ensure the safety of teachers and students, the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hue City announced that students will continue to be off school on Monday (November 3).
For some schools in highland areas that were not flooded, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Hue city assigned school principals and directors of education centers to proactively decide on organizing teaching and learning according to the curriculum and report to the direct management unit according to regulations.
Previously, due to the impact of historic floods, from October 27, the education and training sector of Hue city allowed most students in the area to stay home from school to ensure safety.
On October 31, after the flood waters receded, 168/569 schools in the city were qualified to resume teaching.
