Previously, on the evening of November 2, after completing the main beam dropping stage, the forces urgently worked through the night to assemble and reinforce the steel panels of the bridge deck. By this morning, the welding work, finishing the railing and reinforcing the bridge abutment were being urgently carried out, striving to soon open the temporary route for people to pass through.

Cay Sung Bridge on Route DH.05 (in Phuoc An village, Binh Minh commune) collapsed in the early morning of November 2, cutting off 316 households with more than 1,280 people. This is the only bridge connecting three hamlets: Chau Loc, Chau Binh and Chau Long.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu, a resident of Phuoc An village, said: “This bridge has been there for more than 25 years, it is a vital route for children to go to school and for people to do business. When the bridge collapsed, everyone was worried, now that the temporary bridge is almost completed, I am very happy.”

Mr. Pham Quang Su, Chairman of Binh Minh Commune People's Committee, said that the locality is closely coordinating with the construction unit, sending forces to be on duty at both ends of the bridge to guide and ensure safety during the construction process. "We have proposed that superiors soon arrange funds to rebuild the solid Cay Sung bridge next year," said Mr. Pham Quang Su.

Immediately after the incident, the authorities arrived at the scene to survey and provide technical support. The area where the bridge collapsed was far from the center, with narrow roads and complex terrain, making it difficult to transport materials. However, by the afternoon of November 2, all Larsen sheet piles, large-sized steel beams and a 400KVA generator had been brought to the scene to serve the work of cutting, welding and erecting a temporary bridge.
