Vietnam will implement many measures to ensure fishermen comply with the law in fishing.

Regarding Vietnam's efforts in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson affirmed that Vietnam's stance on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing is consistent and has been stated many times.

According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam advocates sustainable development of the marine economy , maintaining sustainable development of the fishing industry with a vessel and craft structure suitable to the exploitation capacity of aquatic resources; fully complying with regulations on IUU.

In recent times, Vietnam has built and perfected the legal system on fisheries to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, while implementing many measures to prevent and combat IUU fishing activities, resolutely and strictly handling violations in a public and transparent manner.

Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued the “Peak Month Action Plan to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing and to sustainably develop Vietnam’s fisheries sector”. Vietnamese authorities and localities will implement many specific measures for fishermen to comply with Vietnamese law and respect the maritime zones of other countries established in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and relevant international agreements.

* Regarding Vietnam's response to some worrying information that Vietnam could become a "hot spot" for online fraud activities, the Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly stated his stance of not commenting on speculative questions.

According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in recent times, in the face of the complicated developments of fraud, online crimes and cybercrimes, Vietnam has completed the legal corridor for telecommunications and network security management to create effective tools to prevent violations in cyberspace, aiming for a safe and transparent network environment for the people.

Vietnam has clearly demonstrated its joint actions with the United Nations and its member states in the fight against cybercrime, which has been evolving complicatedly in recent times, through the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention and recent high-level conferences.
