On the afternoon of November 6, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee announced that the locality had announced a road closure due to the imminent arrival of Storm No. 13. Accordingly, from 3:30 p.m. on the same day, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested all residents in the eastern part of the province (formerly Binh Dinh area) to stay off the roads. In addition, the province banned all vehicles from traveling on the roads from 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

According to SGGP reporters, on the afternoon of November 6, many coastal areas of Gia Lai province experienced heavy rain. In the coastal cities of Quy Nhon (Gia Lai), the wind began to gust strongly, with very heavy rain at times. On An Duong Vuong Street (Quy Nhon Nam Ward), we recorded many fallen trees and signal poles being broken by the wind, partially blocking the pedestrian path.
Taking advantage of the rain to stop, authorities have deployed work to clean up and fix fallen trees and broken lamp posts to ensure traffic safety.

At the beach area, the waves rose high and the sea was rough. At Ghenh Rang Strait, many large waves continuously crashed into the shore, threatening the coastal embankment. At around 4 p.m., the wind gradually increased, and high tides appeared in some coastal areas.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, said that storm No. 13 is a very big storm, which can exceed predictions, so we must focus on protecting people's lives. Currently, the province is directing agencies and localities to continue to review and focus on coastal areas, flooded areas, and landslide areas. Absolutely do not allow people to stay on boats.

At the coastal area of Cat Tien commune, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, said that the locality had completed the evacuation of 1,500 people to safe shelters. In the afternoon of the same day, the commune continued to review and expand the evacuation of vulnerable residential areas, ensuring that coastal residents absolutely do not stay in unsafe level 4 houses. In addition, the province has allocated funds to directly support each household with 50,000 VND/person/day during the evacuation period.

"Currently, the commune is experiencing strong winds. We are maintaining the entire political system's forces to fight the storm," said Mr. Hung.
