The school has implemented many synchronous solutions to improve training quality, link theory with practice, promote scientific research and apply modern technology in teaching.

Innovation to improve training quality

Identifying the training of primary health care human resources as a key task, linked to the primary health care needs of the people, especially in remote areas, over the past 5 years, the school has trained more than 2,600 college and intermediate level students and more than 1,200 village and hamlet health workers ; contributing to providing quality health care human resources for the locality and the whole country.

Dr. Nguyen Quang An, Principal of the school, said that identifying improving training quality as one of the key tasks, the school focuses on innovating teaching methods, linking training with practice, currently more than 70% of the curriculum is practice, helping students have solid vocational skills.

Up to now, the whole school has 75-85% of teachers with postgraduate qualifications, many of whom have experience in teaching, research, and participating in domestic and international training. Specialized faculties such as Nursing, Pharmacy, and Midwifery are recognized as key national professions, with training programs approaching international standards of Germany, Japan, and Korea. Along with that, scientific research activities have been promoted with more than 40 basic research topics and hundreds of articles published in prestigious scientific journals. Many topics have high application value, practically serving teaching, public health care, and digital transformation in training management.

Taking international cooperation as a strategic direction

Realizing the importance of international integration in vocational education, Phu Tho Medical College has proactively expanded cooperation with international organizations, corporations and schools, aiming at the goal of "training for integration". The school has signed cooperation agreements with prestigious partners, such as: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), KOICA Organization (Korea), JALA Group (Japan), BLA Education Group (Germany) ... to open up opportunities for students to practice, study and work at modern medical facilities abroad. Dozens of nursing students of the school have gone to Japan to work under the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), and are highly appreciated for their skills, discipline and adaptability. In Korea, 26 students participated in the internship program at Jayuro Hospital, accessing modern health care processes and professional style of the Korean medical industry. Do Thi Thanh Ngan, a former student of the 17E nursing college class, Phu Tho Medical College, currently working at Saishukan Hospital (Kitanagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan), said that after graduating, thanks to the school's international cooperation program, she was lucky to work in Japan. She hopes that many students of the school will be able to work here after graduation.

The school also focuses on foreign affairs, actively implementing the Laotian student training program for the 2021-2025 period, contributing to fostering the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. More than 100 Laotian students have been trained at the school, many of whom have become key medical staff in the northern provinces of Laos after graduation and are highly appreciated for their expertise and professional ethics. Notably, international cooperation programs not only create conditions for students to access advanced knowledge but also contribute to improving the teaching and research capacity of the teaching staff, while affirming the prestige and position of the school in the integration period.

In the coming time, Phu Tho Medical College will continue to focus on improving the quality of training, enhancing practice, applying digital technology in teaching and training management. Along with that, it will continue to expand cooperation with hospitals and medical facilities inside and outside the province to improve practical skills, helping students quickly adapt to the actual working environment. One of the key tasks that the school always identifies is to consider developing international cooperation as a strategic direction. According to Dr. Nguyen Quang An, the school will expand training and internship programs in Japan, Germany, Korea, etc.; at the same time, continue to effectively implement the training program for Lao students. In addition, the school is completing the conditions to upgrade to Phu Tho University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, meeting the requirements of developing high-quality medical human resources in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration.
