This year, about 6,900 candidates took the specialized subjects exam, while the quota for specialized classes at 6 high schools was 1,680. The highest competition ratio for specialized 10th graders in Ho Chi Minh City was 1/5.4, at Le Hong Phong Specialized High School. This ratio at Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School was 1/4.6. In addition, Nguyen Huu Huan, Nguyen Thuong Hien, Mac Dinh Chi, and Gia Dinh High Schools all had about 5-6 specialized classes, with competition ratios ranging from 2.3-3.4.
Students taking the entrance exam for the 10th grade specialized program will take the three basic subjects of Literature, Foreign Language, and Mathematics of the 10th grade entrance exam, along with one specialized subject. The specialized program admission score is the sum of the three basic subject exam scores (coefficient 1) plus the specialized exam score (coefficient 2).
The 10th grade exam scores are expected to be announced on June 20. Next, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the benchmark scores for specialized and integrated classes on June 24. The benchmark scores for regular 10th grade will be announced on July 10.
