High tide warning in Hai Phong, risk of flooding in low-lying coastal areas

According to the Hai Phong City Hydrometeorological Station, high tides are likely to cause local flooding in low-lying coastal areas tomorrow, November 10.

The forecast bulletin for this evening, November 9, from the Hai Phong City Hydrometeorological Station said that this morning, November 9, the highest water level at Hon Dau station reached 405 cm at 6:30 am.

Due to the influence of high tides, it is forecasted that early tomorrow morning, November 10, the water level in the coastal area of ​​Hai Phong will continue to fluctuate from 400 - 410 cm, of which Hon Dau station will reach about 410 cm at 7:30 am, Bach Long Vi station will reach about 400 cm at 6:50 am.

High tides are likely to cause local flooding in low-lying coastal areas and estuaries such as Bach Dang, Lach Tray, Cam, Moi and Thai Binh , with flooding depths of 0.3 - 0.5 m.

It is forecasted that in the next 1-2 days, the Hai Phong sea area will still be affected by high tides. The natural disaster risk level is at level 1.

People need to proactively prevent flooding, protect crops, aquaculture areas and be careful when participating in traffic in low-lying areas.
