At around 3:00 p.m. on November 15, residents living on the 12th floor of block A, Dream Home Palace apartment building (Trinh Quang Nghi street, Binh Dong ward, Ho Chi Minh City) discovered a fire breaking out from an unoccupied apartment.

At this time, the fire alarm rang, hundreds of residents carried each other out of the apartment building through the emergency exit stairs. Smoke began to spread along the corridors of the floors and the fire was in danger of spreading to other apartments. Security guards and residents pulled the hose to approach the fire but the fire above could not be controlled.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized vehicles (including a fire ladder truck) to approach the scene. The ladder truck was operated to bring water to control the fire from above, outside through the window. Other fire fighting teams used gas masks to approach the fire from the 12th floor, after more than 20 minutes the fire was completely controlled.

There were no casualties, but many properties in the 70m2 apartment were burned and severely damaged. Initial investigation determined the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit. At the time of the fire, no one was inside the apartment.
