Delegates perform the groundbreaking ceremony of the Solar Energy project at SEHC
The project is not only meaningful in terms of technology or environment, but also a strong message about Samsung's long-term vision in creating a harmonious future between industry, economic growth and social responsibility.
The project provides about 26% of the electricity demand for the SEHC factory. This solar power system will be combined with the direct power purchase mechanism via the power line (DPPA) to aim for the goal of using 100% clean energy in production. Not stopping there, Samsung Vietnam aims to be carbon neutral by 2027, 3 years earlier than the global commitment of Samsung Group under the RE100 initiative.
Mr. ChoonKi Kwon, General Director of SEHC plant, shared: "We do not see this as just an energy project. This is the beginning of a comprehensive transformation phase, where technology serves not only operational efficiency, but also the sustainable development of people and society."

As a global enterprise, Samsung is deeply aware of its responsibility towards the environment and the communities in which it operates. Through the solar power project at SEHC, the group affirms its pioneering role in promoting green transformation, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting the ecosystem and improving the quality of life.
In particular, the partnership with TotalEnergies – a strategic investor – has created an ideal model of cooperation between two businesses that share core values of sustainable development, innovation and responsible action.
Ms. Alexandru Buzatu, General Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Asia Pacific , said: "We are extremely honored to become Samsung's green energy partner in Vietnam. With extensive global experience, TotalEnergies ENEOS is committed to supporting Samsung in meeting energy needs, while strongly promoting the transition to clean energy in Southeast Asia."

At the ceremony, SEHC representatives expressed their gratitude to the agencies, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, High-Tech Park Management Board, electricity industry, and partners who have always accompanied and supported the project to be implemented in the right direction.
"With determination, commitment and clear vision, we believe that the project will be successful, safe and bring practical value to the environment, community and society," Mr. Kwon affirmed.
