Promoting international cooperation, Nghe An aims for technological breakthroughs

DNVN - On the morning of September 25, 2025, Nghe An Department of Science and Technology held a conference to discuss science and technology activities in international integration associated with the implementation of Resolution 57 of the Politburo.

The conference was attended by Ms. Pham Thi Phuong Chi - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the working delegation; Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky - Permanent Vice President of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province; Mr. Nguyen Quy Linh - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An, and representatives of departments and units under the Department.

Here, delegates discussed and specified the task of strengthening international cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. The goal is to effectively implement Action Plan No. 328-KH/TU dated April 24, 2025, Plan No. 339-KH/TU and Plan No. 348/KH-UBND, thereby making Nghe An a pioneer in international connection on strategic technology, forming an innovation center in the North Central region.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Quy Linh emphasized that Nghe An Science and Technology sector will closely follow the orientation, seriously and synchronously implement, with close coordination between relevant agencies and units. The key solutions identified include: expanding international cooperation, promoting technology diplomacy, improving the quality of integration and enhancing the capacity of staff in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Representative of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy, Ms. Pham Thi Phuong Chi, said that in the context of fierce international competition, foreign affairs tasks are increasingly important. According to her, it is necessary to promote political diplomacy, economic diplomacy, science and technology diplomacy on three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy. To be effective, the prerequisite is to raise awareness from leaders to people about the importance of integration; focus on training and improving staff capacity; develop plans associated with expert support; at the same time connect with embassies and perfect specific mechanisms and policies.

At the end of the Conference, delegates agreed that strengthening international cooperation will be an important driving force for Nghe An to strongly develop science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, thereby affirming its position as an innovation center in the North Central region.
