Promoting the systematic and professional development of Pickleball in Vietnam

In recent years, Pickleball has shown strong development across the country, notably Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang... The appeal of the new sport has directly promoted the construction and development of sports infrastructure. Many localities, businesses and individuals have invested in building Pickleball playgrounds in the form of socialization or public playgrounds, meeting the training and competition needs of the player community.

Pickleball has shown strong growth across provinces and cities across the country.

The popularity of Pickleball has quickly formed amateur and professional tournaments, attracting the participation of many amateur and semi-professional athletes, creating opportunities for Vietnamese athletes and coaches to approach a new sport, expanding their options in training and competition.

With the attention and facilitation of the industry, policies to create a stepping stone for Vietnam to form a national Pickleball team and participate in international tournaments in the future have been gradually implemented.

  Open up opportunities to develop pickleball professionally

At the meeting on the development orientation of Pickleball in the coming time held on the morning of May 6, Director of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet commented that the impressive developments in recent times of Pickleball have created a good foundation for the sports industry to plan, build resources, promote professional management, operate, and organize professional and more effective tournaments, aiming to establish a national team.

In order to develop this sport more professionally and reach international level in the future, Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet said that the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department will create all favorable conditions and is ready to cooperate with domestic and foreign units, organizations, individuals and businesses; commit to supporting and accompanying the development of Pickleball in Vietnam in a professional and systematic direction. In particular, the training and coaching of coaches is focused as one of the leading factors.

Specifically, with the training and education for coaches, the Vietnam Sports Department will actively coordinate with units to invite good experts from around the world and continents to participate in teaching in the 3 regions of North - Central - South. From the above preparations, Pickleball Vietnam will create a formal, systematic training network at both grassroots and high-level levels from the national level to units and localities across the country.
