| Pig breeding farms in Thai Nguyen province are actively preparing piglets to serve people's herd restoration needs. |
Currently, farm farming accounts for over 50% of the province's total livestock and poultry herd; the output of fresh meat for slaughter in November is estimated at 7,720 tons, and the cumulative output in 11 months is 241,300 tons (equal to 88.7% of the plan). The price of live pigs ranges from 57,000 - 60,000 VND/kg; colored-feathered chickens from 47,000 - 65,000 VND/kg depending on the farming method; poultry eggs from 2,500 - 2,800 VND/egg. This is a relatively stable price, creating favorable conditions for people to restore their herds.
Along with boosting production, disease prevention and control work has been strengthened. The whole province recorded 1 outbreak of lumpy skin disease in cows which has been controlled. African swine fever has appeared in 78 communes and wards, currently only 13 communes and wards have pigs infected or suspected of being infected with the disease.
To control the epidemic, the province has provided more than 2.8 million doses of vaccine and nearly 25,200 liters of chemicals, while maintaining working group members to support facilities...
