Promote the implementation of the Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue

On November 29, 2024, the National Assembly officially passed the amended and supplemented Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue. Effective from July 1, 2025, the law has progressive provisions to improve the effectiveness of fire prevention and fighting and rescue work, protecting people's lives and property.

In order for the law to be effective, it is necessary to prepare carefully and implement it synchronously nationwide. From now until the law takes effect, the work of propagating and widely disseminating the content of the law to all classes of people, agencies, organizations, and enterprises needs to be promoted in many diverse forms, helping to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of organizations and individuals regarding fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue. In addition, perfecting the system of organizations and State management apparatus for fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue at all levels; increasing investment in modern facilities and equipment, and improving professional capacity for fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue forces are key tasks that need to be prioritized.

Building a mass movement to participate in fire prevention and fighting

An Giang province has potential for diverse economic development, from agriculture, trade to tourism, the effective implementation of the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue is becoming more urgent. In order to implement the new law in line with the actual situation of the province, the Provincial People's Committee has issued Plan 247/KH-UBND on the implementation of the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue. Accordingly, all levels, sectors, localities and units have strengthened propaganda, dissemination and education of the law to all classes of people, helping to raise awareness of self-compliance with regulations on fire prevention and fighting and rescue. Continue to seriously implement Directive 47-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in fire prevention and fighting work. Strengthen fire prevention and fighting for multi-storey houses, multi-apartment houses, individual houses combined with production - business (SXKD)...

The provincial police will guide, propagate,educate the law, knowledge about fire prevention and fighting, build a movement for the whole population to participate in fire prevention and fighting. Organize and command fire fighting activities; advise the provincial People's Committee to develop and organize fire fighting and rescue drills with the mobilization of many forces and means. Advise and propose the provincial People's Committee to invest in purchasing fire fighting and rescue equipment and means for the fire prevention and rescue police force. Organize training, fostering, and professional training in fire prevention and rescue for officers assigned to perform fire prevention and fighting work. Research and apply science and technology in the field of fire prevention and fighting. Strengthen inspection and examination of compliance with the law on fire prevention and rescue at agencies, enterprises and residential areas, in order to promptly detect and strictly handle violations, contributing to deterrence and prevention of fire and explosion risks and accidents. Focus on building on-site fire prevention and rescue forces at facilities, enterprises and residential areas, ensuring the ability to respond quickly when incidents occur.

Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested departments, branches, localities and units to identify fire prevention and fighting as one of the important and regular tasks in ensuring security and order, serving socio-economic development. Ensure that the implementation must be synchronous, effective, with close coordination between relevant levels, branches and units.
