At this time, the province's mangoes have entered the main harvest season, the province focuses on directing units and localities to promote mango processing, consumption and export activities.

Yen Chau is a district with a large mango area in the province, over 3,340 hectares of mango, with an estimated output of over 26,600 tons in 2025, with varieties of round mango, local stinky mango, Australian mango, Taiwanese mango. Yen Chau mango has a characteristic flavor, beautiful shape, thin skin, sweet taste, and is highly appreciated by domestic and foreign markets. "Yen Chau round mango" was granted a Certificate of registration of geographical indications and brand recognition system by the Department of Intellectual Property; 207 hectares of mango are certified VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic, 298 hectares are granted a growing area code for export. In early June, Yen Chau district organized a Mango Festival to promote mango products of the district in particular and the whole province in general, associated with tourism development.

Since mid-May, people in Muong Bu, Ta Bu, Muong Chum communes, Muong La district have begun harvesting mangoes. Muong Bu Agricultural Cooperative has over 70 hectares of fruit trees, including nearly 35 hectares of Australian mangoes, Taiwanese mangoes, and native mangoes, with an estimated yield of 15 - 20 tons of fruit/ha. The cooperative's mango acreage is grown according to VietGAP and organic processes, with a growing area code, ensuring safety for consumers. Currently, in addition to ensuring output for its members, the cooperative also purchases mangoes from households to supply to processing factories in Ninh Binh, Big C Thanh Long supermarket, and the WinMart system through BNC Nguyen Tran Joint Stock Company, and exports to China.

The province is cooperating with large corporations to support the consumption of mango and other agricultural products. Focusing on promoting and advertising products; supporting businesses and cooperatives to participate in events connecting the consumption and export of agricultural products; agricultural product weeks and fairs organized by ministries, central agencies, provinces and cities. In May, the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province chaired and coordinated with Vietnam Post Corporation, Son La Provincial Post Office and Yen Chau District People's Committee to organize a survey and connection program for the consumption of mango and plum products. Outstanding activities include: organizing Mega Livestream to consume products associated with the festival, surveying raw material areas, working with cooperatives and gardeners to promote the consumption of agricultural products on e-commerce platforms. The province welcomed the delegation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to learn about typical agricultural models in Mai Son district, discussing the potential for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and agricultural product consumption. Work with the Korean Embassy to connect agricultural exports; prepare conditions for the provincial delegation to go to the Russian Federation to promote agricultural trade, introduce products and seek investment and cooperation opportunities...

To ensure mango quality, from the beginning of the year, the province directed provincial departments, branches, districts, cities and towns to proactively develop plans from the care process; issue 69 growing area codes; 8 packaging facility codes; organize 8 training courses for 207 trainees in Moc Chau town, Phu Yen district, Muong La, Quynh Nhai, Thuan Chau on establishing, issuing and managing growing area codes, agricultural product packaging facilities for export. Coordinate with units, organize 4 training courses on e-commerce, necessary skills when participating in e-commerce platforms, social networks for over 300 people who are representatives of enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments. Up to now, the whole province has consumed nearly 1,000 tons of mangoes in the domestic and export markets. Cooperatives and traders mainly purchase and export to China, with the selling price of mangoes to export units at 5 - 8 thousand VND/kg; The average purchase price of native round mango is 15,000 - 30,000 VND/kg.

In the coming time, the departments and branches will continue to coordinate with the districts to promote investment and promote agricultural products in general and mango products in particular. In addition to domestic consumption, mangoes will be brought to processing factories. Strive to consume all mango products for farmers, at reasonable prices, contributing to increasing the value of Son La mangoes.
